System update Jan 18
January 11, 2012
On Wednesday, January 18th, released a system update that improves the response speed of our API, Contentserver and Dashboard. The update started at 9:30am GMT and took 55 minutes in total.
During the release, the Dashboard and API were unavailable. Due to a bug content serving was impacted for 8 minutes during the update; we apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact us for more info.
Social sharing

We recently revamped the social sharing options in Bits on the Run. Now you can display direct links to Facebook and Twitter. You can also set a different player for the third-party embeds.

Streaming interruption

This morning between 1am and 4am GMT, we had an outage in our RTMP streaming, affecting a large number of accounts. In this timeframe, the root cause was identified and fixed.

Captioning

As of this week, you can upload and publish subtitles and closed captions. This greatly enhances the accessibility of your videos.
Captions can be uploaded in SRT or DFXP format. See this tutorial for an example and more help.
Google analytics

We have made tracking your videos with Google Analytics super easy now. Simply by inserting your GA account id, our players will send streams, time spent and percentage watched events.

Service interruption

As of 05:59pm GMT today, we are experiencing a service interruption. Content serving has resumed since 06:07pm, but the dashboard is still unavailable.
Update (07:05pm GMT): the issue is resolved and we're also bringing the dashboard back online. The root cause was a malfunctioning DNS. Please contact us for more info.
System update Dec. 15
December 9, 2011
Thursday December 15 we performed a system update at 9 AM GMT. This update took 15 minutes. The main feature included in this release is captions integration.
During the upgrade uploads and the dashboard were taken offline. Content serving was not impacted.
System update Dec 1
November 25, 2011
On December 1 we will take some of our systems offline for a infrastructure upgrade. This upgrade will happen between 9 and 12 AM GMT and will take 30 minutes.
Update: the upgrade has been completed. The dashboard was offline for 15 minutes, content serving was not affected.
Video sitemap integration

We have recently deployed a video sitemap integration through which we push video sitemaps to Google. All you need to do is make sure your videos have a title, description and that you embed your video on a public page that can be indexed by Google.
