Playing a YouTube Video

The JW Player can embed any YouTube video, as long as the video itself is allowed to be embedded (i.e., not only on http://www.youtube.com). This example demonstrates how to set up the JW Player with a video hosted on YouTube. Note, if no image option is specified, the player will use the video's default thumbnail image, downloaded from YouTube.

Note: For YouTube support with older versions of the JW Player (5.5 and below), the player requires that an additional file, yt.swf, be placed on your web server in the same location as your player.swf. This file would have been included in the player download zip.
