OVA, Adap.tv, and JWPlayer Plugin for WordPress

Hi All,

I'm attempting to implement OVA with the latest version of the JWPlayer WordPress plugin. We would like to use Adap.tv with OVA (I know there is a separate Adap.tv plugin, but the site owners would like to use OVA for great video ad flexibility).

I'm currently using the OVA WordPress plugin from here: http://developer.longtailvideo.com/ova/browser/trunk/ova.wordpress/jwplayer/ova.xml

with the sample JSON found in this example: http://static.openvideoads.org/qa/rc5-final/ova.jwplayer.5x/examples/pages/ad-servers/adap.tv/exampl...

The Adap.tv sample ads will play some of the time correctly (usually with a clear cache, cleared cookies, etc), however most of the time the player will try to load the first video in the mRSS playlist as an advertisement. As in it will play the first video and overlay the "This ad will run for xxx seconds" message and not allow skipping, etc. The ads that should then display between each video work when the first ad loads correctly, but get skipped completely if the first video gets loaded instead of the Adap.tv ad.

It looks like Adap.tv support was only recently added to OVA so specific examples using that ad network with OVA seem to be far and in between. Should I be using a newer RC version of OVA instead of the version being called by the plugin XML? Could this be a problem with Adap.tv's delivery method/process (since it seems to work some of the time)?

Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for finalizing this implementation, if anyone has seen similar problems, or if I'm using the wrong versions of JWPlayer, OVA or the JSON call.

I can't post a link to the test page as it's in on a private dev environment, but I can setup a copy if anyone thinks it would help diagnose the issue.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan, think I'm going to need to see a link to help debug your setup... would you mind emailing it to enquiries@openvideoads.org and I'll help out...

Definitely make sure you are using RC7 from the OVA developer site, and in general, I'd side step the wordpress console for setup and do it manually.. but email me and I'll help where I can...
