OVA for Flowplayer trial example

6 replies [Last post]

I am new to OVA, I am trying to use OVA with flowplayer, The flowplayer plug-in is working fine in my webserver, I can see some videos in my web pages. Then I tried the example code that is in the trial version, but when I go to the web page where I inserted the code, I don't see any video, it is like if I have never written any code into my file.

Any idea why I cannot see the video??? This is the code that I am using.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://player.longtailvideo.com/flowplayer/flowplayer-3.1.4.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

Firstly apologies for the issue you are having. It's down to some bad documentation with that trial setup page. We'll get that fixed today.

But in short, your issue is as follows:

1. You need to configure a player container on your page - I recommend a <div> tag set with an id "player1"

2. Then modify the "flowplayer(" setup code to reference that container ID

So the right code should be something like:

<div id="player1" style="width:360;height:240;"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
"http://player.longtailvideo.com/flowplayer/flowplayer-3.2.1.swf", {

The player container is set with the div tags and the flowplayer() setup function references that container ID. I've also attached a little styling to the <div> to size the player appropriately.

When I posted this topic the first time, the problem in the example was fixed very fast. Today (06/17/2001) I tried the code example again, and again there are another problems, first, my anti virus (Avast) is telling me that there is a trojan horse, malware name: JS:ScriptIP, I have already posted about this problem before, and also this problem was fixed. The second problem is that only the video clip that is in the playlist is displayed, the video ad (pre-roll) is not displayed.

Hi Fernando,

My guess is that if the pre-roll isn't showing, the ad call isn't returning an ad.

Is there a URL that I can look at to see it run? That will help me see precisely what is happening...

If you don't want to publicly post the URL, then feel free to email me at enquiries@openvideoads.org and I'll look at it from there... ;)

Sorry, I cannot give you the URL, not because I don't want, it is because it is in an internal network, it is not open to Internet.
Why are you having again the problem with the anti virus? You have fixed it before

Honestly no idea why Avast is having a problem.

There isn't a trojan - Avast is just deciding that there is because it sees "script" in the URL for the ad tag...

I'm contacting them on it, but as far as I'm concerned, it's incorrectly reporting an issue.

I've logged a support ticket with Avast reporting the false positive on the Open Video Ads OpenX URLs..

If you are also looking to resolve it and need to reference the ticket in any communication with them, the details are:
