Problem with xml skin

4 replies [Last post]

I´m testing the OVA trial (JW Player 5.2), and each time I run it with my xml skin, the ad doesn´t work, and the message: This advertisement runs for <Duration of my video> seconds.

If I remove the skin, everything works ok.

Does OVA works with xml skins?

Thanks.

Hi Ivan,

At present OVA for JW5 does have some compatibility issues with custom skins. When the OVA plugin starts up it attempts to disable/enable the control bar. Unfortunately it has transpired that the mechanism that we are currently implementing to achieve this does have compatibility issues with skins. We're working on a reliable fix and are attempting to get that out quickly to resolve the issue.

To help you track our progress there is a ticket logged on the OVA developer site to cover the issue:

http://developer.longtailvideo.com/ova/ticket/127

If you'd like to register on the OVA developer site and track the issue you'll be able to see when we have a fix in place.

We'll also update this forum item as soon as we have a fix ready.

Hi,

I can happily report that this issue has been fixed. The fix will be out in the next version. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

If you want to try the current development version between now and the next release, please feel free to register on the OVA developer site (developer.longtailvideo.com/ova) and grab the latest JW5 ova.swf from the subversion source repository.

Thanks Paul.

The ads are now working perfectly, but now the controlbar stays hidden after the ads. :(
Again, it only happens with custom skins.

Thanks.

Ivan

Really.. strange.. what skin are you using? I'll try to replicate that here... the "hidden" bit seems strange since I never "hide" the control bar, just "disable" elements of it.

Actually, if you could send me through a link to a test page or something that shows it happening, it would help. Send the link to enquiries@openvideoads.org if you don't want to post it in the forum...
