JW Player 5.8 doesn't work with Safari

Hi,

JW Player works fine at my site a-arkitektur.se with IE8 and Chrome but not at all in Safari. I've tried an iPad, an iPhone and also to download Safari on my computer (with Windows XP) and disable the plug-ins. Instead of showing the movie Safari wants to download it or show it in another program... not good.

The movie is an .mp4

What's wrong?

Best regards from Sweden/

This works for me both in Safari without Flash and on the iPad. Did you do anything to fix it?

Hi,

Ok, that's weird... Well, I haven't done anything and I just checked it again - and the problem remains for me.

It's the same thing with the video clips at longtailvideo.com, for instance the clip "Alone in New York" - works fine in IE8 and Chrome but not in Safari (the latest version at this date) if the plug-ins are disabled - and the same thing with iPhone and iPad...

So... what to do?

Best regards/

It really sounds like this is some isolated issue that is somehow related to your situation, as these videos are viewed successfully on iPads numerous times every day.

Have a similar issue. Has got to do with "Page Processing" option in Safari browser (well, mostly!). See this -> http://www.indexhibit.org/forum/thread/9013/
if it helps. I am still trying to find this "Page Processing" option in my Safari browser :|
