progress bar reaches end but video stops midway

please post a link to your testpage, else its next to impossible to guess what might be the problem...

is it only a particular video or does the phenomenon apply to any video you attempt to stream?
can you make it work with videos from your own site?

this happens to any video i attempt to stream, i am a relative novice i know a little but not a lot, how do i go about getting you a test page on the problem for you, i don't have a website

ok, somewhat more troublesome - please make a simple page with only a player nothing else - that shows the problem. then you can post the code and people here can have a look and maybe spot the trouble, if it is the code...

I want to agree with this problem... I'm having the same exact issue. I haven't the slightest clue what's causing it. And yes, it's been about 4-6 weeks that this problem has been occurring. My visitors keep complaining of the problem.

I dont believe so... this is a recent occurance (like I said past 4-6 weeks). Prior to that, no problems at all.

Members of my website upload file (wmv, avi, etc), and file converts with ffmpeg, inserts metadata with flvtool2 and serves from same herver using lighttpd. I dont believe it's an upload problem.

It's been a while since I've changed anything about the FLV playback component. Strange issue, I'll keep an eye on it. The example streams I've set up in the "extras" folder of my site work fine though.

Sounds like yet another hickup in FFMPEG actually. Did you try moving back to a previous release of FFMPEG? The problem is that Flash's implementation and FFMPEG's implementation of H263 (Flash7 video format) is somewhat different. Flash uses a smaller featureset and stalls when it encounters any of the more advanced features.

We dont use ffmpeg - We use the flash video encoder to do the encodiing, ive done the metadata injection, if you pull the video off and view it in a stand alone flv player it works fine, however watching it streamed it looks as thought its downloaded completely but then it dies about 2/3 of the way in.

I've exactly the same problem described by jack here, I'm using FFMPEG, FLVTool2 and lighttpd for streaming. Have somebody found any solution to this problem? Or does anyone know what cause this problem?

Hmm, it still sounds like a hickup in the FLV file. I've seen this a couple of times before. Haven't had any problems with it myself though (I also use the Flash Video Encoder), so I don't know how to fix this. Anyone?

Same problem. Video stops after 10-20 seconds. But, I have done a fair amount of capturing of youtube video, and I'm thinking they know this and have dumped something into my registry or elsewhere telling youtube or the flash player not to stream any longer. I have a second hard drive with Windows XP loaded on to it, and on which I have done no captures, and I had no problem viewing a Youtube video when running XP on it. Same computer, same internet connection, same video (which I couldn't view using drive 1), just a different hard drive with a seperate operating system.
So, have you guys that are having this problem done much video capture?

to make such changes to a user machine would be sooo illegal - i can not believe it!
another thing would be to block the access to a site - but that doesnt fit your description.

i would find it more likely that a windows or browser update is the difference!

for instance there are markedly differences between the way IE6 and 7 caches and handles streams.

which browsers have you tried? - if only IE, then try download a FireFox or Opera - see if that makes any difference...

I'm having the same problem recently .... even after clearing the system cache ... the problem remains ... could it be a flash or a windows update?

For what it's worth, I first noticed this problem after installing "Replay Media Catcher". So, I just uninstalled this program, ran my registry cleaner, rebooted, and the problem seems to be cured.

I'm having the same problem. My stream stops on all Youtube videos after about 1/4 the way through. I didn't start having this problem until sometime last week. Do you think it has something to do with Youtube converting all their movies over so they will run on the I-Phone?

YouTube has been making a lot of changes lately. Sometimes half of my playlist doesn't work. Sunday, I couldn't get to youtube.com for hours. Right now, my whole playlist works; with some URLs that are over 3 months old!

I also have this problem both with Firefox and Explorer! But I also have problem with downloading files, they stop in the middle in the same way as the streaming does.

I'm having the same problem too (on my desktop).
I reinstalled windows, applied all the latest patches from Windows upate.
The flash video worked for couple of days and then started giving this problem (again).
The last piece of software that I had installed was XviD-1.1.3-28062007.
However, the problem didnt resolve after uninstalling the same.

For some strange reason, I'm not encountering this problem on my laptop.
I think there is some problem with the latest version of Flash.

The problem goes away (for next few videos) if you uninstall flash, delete all registy enteries and then reinstall flash.

Ofcourse I don't think anyone wants to do this everytime you want to watch a video.

same problem but in firefox ONLY, at some point I did install a flash ad blocker to FF but I removed it, just about then 4-6 weeks I have noticed the problem.
At first I just thought it was bandwidth issue but its every single streaming video.

what I'm seeing is Flash will beging to progressivly load a video (red bar) and then part way thru it will stop. When the curser gets to that point playback stops and diagonal bars appear in the remainder of the progress bar area.

This seems to indicate that it's rebuffering to get the rest of the video, but it never completes.

Didn't have this problem with the windows media viewer, when it had to rebuffer, it would eventual pick up playback from where it left off.

Does this sound like what you are experiencing, or is this a more basic problem? And if so, could I get some idea what I can do about it? Short of asking MSNBC to go back to using the windows viewer ;)

has anyone found a solution for this problem? i've tried IE and mozilla, and in both the video will load in its entirety, but then quick part way through. sometimes clearing the cache (using the clear private data) will allow the video to play all the way through. sometimes, though, that doesn't work. I found a setting in the prefs file for mozilla that had the cache disk size set to 50000 KB. I changed that to -1 which supposedly makes it infinite.

other than that, though, i'm stumped and annoyed. has anyone been able to fix this problem? I've had some problems in other programs with the nVidia firewall - could that be the problem?

Still doing it. I can forgive YouTube, but I thought MSNBC perhaps had a glitch in thier rollout of an all-flashplayer, all the time format... but no they are either victims as I am or they are allowing it intentionally.

If I end up subscribing to cable so I can watch Countdown, I will go out of my way to boycott all the sponsers of the on-line content at MSNBC.

Never thought I would say this but MS media player never gave me this much trouble.

I removed the nVidia firewall and it seems to have fixed the problem. pretty surprised that a firewall creates this type of problem. I would've assumed that a program would have been tested rigorously for any conflicts, etc. anyways, i'm happy to have it fixed.

removing nvidia firewall worked just fine for me. don't EVER install this piece of shit. if you already have it uninstall nvidia drivers , clean registry and then re-install without firewall

Same problem here,for months already. I've been trying to fix it but no go. On my other computer, no problems whatsoever - it's just got Flash Player 9.0, this one has also got JW FLV Player 3.99.

Maybe that causes the problem, but I can't uninstall it - anyone ot a clue as how to do that?

I have the same issue. Wondered if it might be Vista, but seems like some of you are XP.

I'm not sure if I have exactly the same problem...but my playlist contains .swf files and they are getting cut off at the end. Looks like the progress timer only starts counting up/down after the file has completely loaded so if it takes 20 seconds for entire .swf to load and the video starts streaming immediately then I lose 20 seconds at the end of the video and it is cut short.

It only happens on first viewing - the seconds time around the .swf is already 100% loaded so entire movie plays.

any ideas? solutions?

Everytime I start my computer, open IE 7, log on to Youtube, and start watching a video online. Somethimes I can watch 2 or 3 videos, sometimes only a few seconds of a clip. And every time the whole page freezes after the clip stops. And then I have to restart the comp. for Internet to work "properly".

sounds somewhat like a problem with your machine-

can you play .flv files locally on your machine?
are your windows, IE and flashplayer browser plugin all up to date?
can you play in other browsers such as FireFox or Opera?

do you have enough free space on the harddisk?
is your browser cache big enough and empty?
do you have ram memory enough?
do you know how to handle your firewall and antivirus program?

Have a site which has FLV video for VIP members, people paid to see the vids (myself included) I have no problems (use FLV 3.8), on IE or firefox, clic and watch, BUT most of my friends that are trying to see the vids have the same problems described here by others. Will only load 10 to 30%, then stalls or quits. But on rare occasions slowly loads and they can watch. I played with one of the problem computer, cleaned up cache, change various settings, and worked for maybe 1 video then same problem. Am interested to see if you guys find a solution.

size of ram, free hardisk, cache, allocated graphic ram or the like?
operating system, browser(s), updated flashplayer browserplugin?

Sorry can't help much, just fiddled on the one laptop, and it had other issues as well so I thought it was the computer, but when my other friends emailed and said they had the same problem, and many more calls came in to the owner of the website and complained with the same issues, (wanted money back as they could not see the vids) but I have no idea re their operating systems. But it is not everyone, some say they had no problems. The laptop would play the downloaded FLV files no problem. Just had problems downloading.

but, as you tell it sometimes work, we can deduce the implementation cant be completely wrong-
have you considered that it might be the server that cant handle the load?

I agree I'm not much help, only have very limited computer knowledge. Server problem? I doubt it, the problem laptop is my next door neighbor on the same provider as me, but does have a slower connection speed as his laptop is on wi fi. So I tried it with other types of files,quicktime,wmv, and works perfectly. Tried it again yesterday, now here's something weird,when I started playing the video approx (50 meg) it would play the first few seconds,pause,etc.. like a typical slow connection speed,and it would stall at some point, I then right clicked a link on the same page to open a new window on the site, and while viewing the 2nd page, the video would download further, I'd close the 2nd page and it would stall again. Eventually I could download the whole thing by going to the 2nd page?!? The laptop has lots of hard drive space, I cleaned out the cache,and made sure there were no extra programs running in the background. It uses XP home, I use XP pro.

It happens to me too. It seems like it happens on vids that are political mostly, like someone has hacked into them to try to stop you from watching. Maybe I'm crazy but it seems to be done on purpose.

IE on Vista stops midway through random youtube videos. Firefox will open the same video and play it fine. Doesn't happen all the time, just after watching a few youtube videos in a row.

I have the same problem. I thought it was because I am on dial-up, but I have the latest Adobe and I still cannot load any videos.

I am having the same problem. Can watch a few streams, then the video plays stoppy starty like misses 1 or 2 secs then does the same thing till the end of the video or the video just stops (the audio stops just before the video does) This is also happening with premiere pro 2 as well.

However I am trying to design with flash 7 users in mind.
Also, I have put a bit of effort into setting up dynamic random video loading. Does JWMP work the same way as normal NetStream video?
(I am a novice Action Script programmer, so this has been a learning process to get as far as I have.)

Is there an encoding fix? Certain codecs, versions, or settings that don't cause errors?

Yes i too have the same problem. The status bar shows the video is full, but play back only goes for 10to 20 seconds. Iam using IE 7. This happense for some videos only. Santosh.

im having the same problem, i can watch 2 seconds of videos on you tube, 4 seconds on break, with safari or firefox. im running mac osx on a pc so i think its safe to say this is not a windows only problem. i do have an nvidia card gonna try to figure out how to remove that firewall.

I looked at your link and noticed that your player clipped off the last 1 or 2 seconds (in FF 2.0.0.1). No such problem in IE 7.0.57).

But what is most disturbing to me is that I could see the buffering graphic in the center of the player flashing all the way through. It flashed on and off about once per second in FF and once per 2 seconds in IE...all the way through the entire movie. I guarantee this is not my internet connection. I'm on a T1 line.

BTW... this is not just you. I'm having the same exact problems with my own 5MB videos. I'm using JW FLV Player 3.13. I hope someone can work out these annoying little bugs soon, because I'm tearing my hair out.

When Initial (1%) percentage of download (initial buffer) has completed, the progress bar shown with white color (fully downloaded). But it should be show with how much percentage has been completed.

If the progressbar isn't running with your FLV file, or if your video dimensions are messed-up, your FLV file doesn't have correct metadata inserted. You can fix this by using the small tool available at www.buraks.com/flvmdi/

I had the same problem running XP. I could not watcha video, play iTunes, etc. I created a new user, logged on, and sure enough everything worked fine with audio and video. Neither was working before. I then logged back on with my old account and everything was working again. I deleted the new user I created and all is well."

NO GO on my XP box. Creating a new user? Yes - vids that were broken? All fixed.
Logged back onto my regular user and nope. Still broken. Thanks though.

Hi, i had the same problem, i used superC program to convert mpg to flv, all my video stoped around 20th sec, i installed the FLVMDIGUI program at www.buraks.com/flvmdi/ and i converted all flv files with the flv metaData injector, and the problem is fix now, thanks a lot, my flv video play very well and completly.

I have the same problem and I'm on a MacBook Leopard, so I don't know why this is happening. Before, it rarely occurs, but now, even though I load the page again, it doesn't clear. So, I thought that if I left it for the whole night, it would finish loading. Sadly, it didn't finish loading, and just said that it was full but stopping at about 2 minutes into the video, it stopped, acting like it had gone through the whole video.

It also happens to Macs so it probably is more likely to be a server problem, since if it was a program, it wouldn't happen to a Mac since most applications only run on PCs.

OK - Here's a partial solution. For me, when watching vids on the Youtube site, they load about halfway then hang. This is fairly consistent.
BUT - when I embed a video on my website, it plays perfectly. No hangups at all. This leads me to believe that the problem may actually be with the Youtube site itself.

I know this isn't a total solution, but it does work. Anybody can set up a simple website at http://jottit.com (free) and embed all the vids you like, and they'll work.

Responding to first post- Mhmm... I have been having this problem for over a year, maybe two now. I just ignore it usually. It only happens if the video is over 15 minutes long.

Blegh, I'm having the same problem, just, it causes ALL sound and all videos/media files on my computer to stop.

I bought Flash Video MX 2 days ago. I converted a .wmv file to flash. It runs fine before it is published to my website. On my website it stalls 3 minutes into a 5 minute Video. Flash Video MX is looking into it. I sent the link I published it on, to a couple of friends and it stalls on their computers also. I've searched everywhere in google, and this is the first place I've seen that has the same problem. I tried "Anderson's" player also, and it still stalls in the same spot. I've tried other flash files I have too, they are all stalling between 2 to 3 minutes. I hope someone here figures it out. Thanks

One more thing. I've tried 3 different players. They all get the same result. It is not the players. I've also noticed that the smaller/very low quality the video is, the longer it plays, which is definitely not the result wanted. I believe it has something to do with .flv files.

Hi guys, I have the same problem, the video is playing and like 14 seconds later or less (of a 2min movie) the video just shows the loading spinner and instead of showing the time in the control bar where it stopped it shows 00:00 and doesn't play any further, please help, this is the last output just when the video stops:

You can see that it returns to time 00:00 but it stops there, doesn't want to play anymore, and I can't explain why it goes back to 0.

using wordpress, and today added a fourth video to my rotator. It is the space weather FX video. It is exhibiting all the same problems everyone else is griping about -- it loads and plays for 10 secs, and then quits. It runs fine on other pages, and on my system, and the metadata are in order. THis is placed on my webpage using the WordTube plugin for Wordpress. The other videos were placed that way too, and they run fine. THis is happening ONLY with my SWFX video.

Has anyone figured out the problem when it isn't the meta data or xml?

rascal, how can the server be doing that to one file but not the others? I question that excuse. I've had longer files in this player and didn't have the problem.

And, if I play this flv in another player from the same place, it doesn't happen?

If I refresh my page and go to play the file, it sometimes will play up to two minutes before the percent number starts flashing (this is after the file has completely loaded) and then the old ten-second countdown starts and the file stops playing.

And, finally rascal, if the server is doing this gzipping thing, how do I get it to stop?

Have the same problem: it downloads the youtube video (or other site flash video)but it plays only 2-3 sec. And sometimes it plays the video but without sound. I'm using Opera browser 9.5, with Internet Explorer it works fine.
I use AMD 64 X2 4200, Asus motherboard, Ati Radeon 2600Pro videocard, onboard soundcard 7.1, Kaspersky 7 antivirus, Utorrent, Strong DC, conected to Internet with router.

I have problems with large files over 30mb (110mb typical size) where the player seems to have a built in playback limit of 10 minutes, but I can not find the parameters to change this to 1hr 33mins playback or 120mb playback.

I have searched and search and that is how I ended up here (none the wiser)

The issue it turns as mentioned many times is the metadata in the file. I wrongly assumed the flv transcoder I was using had this built in (it is not). So upon a huge search of the net it seems one of the better mpg2 [over 2gb file sizes] to flv converters is from the people at ImToo (google it).

the person who said get a mac needs to find a way out off his own arse. my friend has the same problem on his imac...

i vote flash 9 is just terrible overall. most flash uploaders and players seem to be terrible these days.. :/

It seems to me that my problem may have to do w/ disk space on my main harddrive. It seemed to happen only on longer videos. I noticed that I was almost out of HD space. I cleaned out some useless programs and this seemed to have cleared it up.

streaming stops for me without fail at 2 seconds...the only time it will work is when i restart my pc..then i can play a vid or two and then it dies again....cleared my cache, hard reboot of my modem, nothng is working....is there a fix?

what fixed it for me was this.

I had a bad ethernet cable to my router, i replaced it.

and i reinstalled Flvplayer

and that fixed it for me.

uninstalled and reinstalled both IE and Firefox's Flash players and all is good.

We have found that servers streaming video can be having problems with their drives slowing the ability to stream the video smoothly and we have seen a similar problem on client machines but unfortunately this may not be the solution for everyone.

As a hard disk drive becomes used, worn or prone to head landings, the result is a poorly perfoming operating system or storage disk which tries to manage but as soon as anything demanding is needed to put it to the test (ie video playback) then the hard drive can affect the playback making the system hang or the playback stall intermittantly.

We often have to recover hard drives for Video and Sound recording studios including some you might have seen online or at concets or at the cinema etc.

I had the same problem (XP), every time I was restarting the computer it was working for a while and then again stopping every 20'' on IE and displaying an error message (not playing at all) on firefox. I uninstalled the real player with the video downloader and now it seems to work ok, I will observe it

ive had this loads over the last few years, it usually goes away on its own after about a month. try streaming from different sites. Youtube works fine for me but youtu always takes ages to load and then stops abruptly after a few minuets. Its killing me I really really want to watch weeds!!

Hello, my videos also stops in the middle, I also noticed that by restarting my computer I could watch a couple of videos without any problem.

I have a similar problem: as soon as a video on youtube begins to play, the audio cuts-out which causes the video to stop. likewise, I can't listen to music in any media player. so I put my pc on stand-by for a few seconds...then bring it back from stand-by and the problem is solved..but only for a few seconds. then it starts over again. I have had this problem for about 2 years and no one seems to be able to know how to fix it. the problem began when I had to install an XML file in order to listen to AOL radio in my browser(which I don't have any more). I uninstalled and removed all AOL crap, including xml files(except for microsoft xml files), but the problem still exists.

Definatly a flash problem, it seems to freak out if you play too many videos or too many at once.
If you skip ahead it will play a few seconds again always soundless, but that's it.

All you have to do is to update to Flash version 10.

But certainly in my case update to Flash 10 was not enough (problem remained).
I first had to uninstall the recent Flash version (see http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157), restart my PC and then install the new version.

Works better now (some videos play well, most still have the same problem). This problem occured some days ago, so I think youtube and videogoogle are part of the problem too.

I had the same problem - upgrading the firmware solved it!

It is NOT just Youtube nor IE7. I've tried Safari, Opera, Firefox3, IE7, Metacafe and several other video formatted sites.

Some will let you click 'ahead' of the slide pointer yet others will not. Some times the red line goes all the way to the right (in which case the whole video will usually play) and sometimes it barely starts then stops.

I've scanned for everything, done all the latest updates and cleaned / scanned registry...same results...nada!

My Linux (Ubuntu) box works fine with all vids! Go figure!

The problem is usability of the player. The player is allright for basic purposes but if you want to do serious work you either have to use javascript hacks or forget about the player. The biggest problem is that you cannot integrate the player when applications become large. The best thing to look at then is commercial players with a guarantee.

I have access to my own server, so in php.ini, under resource limits I changed the max_execution_time = 600 (it was default 30 secs). Clips now play all the way to end - but if download time exceeds 10 minutes (600 sec) the script terminates.

Note: May effect script execution for others if on highly shared server.

You can set the max_execution_time for an individual script using set_time_limit(0);at the beginning of the script.

0 gives you no time limit. (Be careful!)

And another thing, I just bought an HD vid cam that takes .mp4 vids and they are CHOPPY AS HELL when play on QT or WMP. Most of the time, the audio finishes well before the vid. It really sucks because I took that camera to Vegas, got MASS footage, and now can't edit it. AHHHHHHHHH

There are times that the Youtube video will stop after it's played for a few minutes and will progress no further. Hint: I push the button on the bottom left of my Toshiba keyboard that has the 4 flags on it and push the F5 while holding it down. The video will start again and play through successfully. Hey everyone I have a solution. If you have the same problem as him that could mean two things. One, you need a new flash player. Every year there is a new flash player and only the new ones work on youtube. Two, you might have a slow connection. Anyone with slow connection wont have youtube videos working properly. Also try clearing your cookies and cache. Also try a new browser. Its works good for Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome, Firefox 3.5, and also Safari 4.0

Same problem. Stops after one minute of two or so, whatever Youtube video. Alternative solution: I put the mouse cursor a little bit after the scroll bar current point and I click: the video restarts a little bit further (obviously). Then I put the cursor back before the blocking position, I click and it works.

The problem I was having: A video would partially load and then stop buffering. When the progress bar reached that point the video would stop. Manually clicking on a bit further would cause the buffering to immediately restart and the video to play. This was quite annoying, especially on Dailymotion and Youtube.

Solution: Follow these steps exactly, do not miss out a step because you think it might save you five minutes to skip it.

1) Use add/remove programs (programs and features in vista) to remove the flash player if you have it installed.
2) Also remove the flash plugin for firefox.
3) Now shut the pc down and restart. Do not skip this stage because doing so will bork your install.
4) Return to the video, you will be told you need to install plugins to play it. Great! Do that.
5) Don't do any of the following; install flash player, go the flash site and be talked into installing anything, in fact don't do anything with flash just leave it as it is.
6) Play your videos without the buffering problem - hooray!

This not only worked for me but by reversing the process and trying it again I was able to determine this IS the problem. If you manually install flash it causes problems with the firefox add-in. It even causes problems if you try to watch with IE, why this is I don't know but this will hopefully solve your problem - it did for me.

Hope it works for you too!

guys try messing around with ur router....it worked in mine...i created static ip for my computer and told my router to excuse that specific ip address...to be able to roam free...

check if u have enough space on your hard drive, i had the same problem cause i had 0 space on C.

I never use you tube etc. The problem for me was in trying to donwload and install plugins etc. I also have been trying to find the right program to rip movies to my external harddrive so I can play from there. The programs would down load to literally the last second and then hangup. Repeated downloads only resulted in the same thing. Since similar problems have been plaguing so many people it is apparently a microsoft screwup.........again.......and a new update etc is needed. While I am writing I would like to ask if anyone has a program to rip movies to hard drive so I can store (terabyte drive) a lot of movies and watch from there instead of messing with the DVD discs all the time. I tried one two three and while it copied to the hard drive it would not playback,. I know its possible but I am too f ing dumb I guess to figure it out. ive been having all the same problems with the videos it was letting me watch a few seconds then it the buffering bar would go to 100% and it would just stop but if i clicked a bit further on in the video or restarted it it worked fine... for a few more seconds then it did it again but eventually i found this solution:
1) Use add/remove programs to remove adobe flash player 10 (Also remove the flash plugin for firefox.)
3) Now shut the pc down and restart. Do not skip this stage if you do it wont re-install properly!!!
4) Return to the video, you will be told you need to install plug-ins - do this
6) Play your videos without the buffering problem

i have the same problem... I have JW Player 5.1 and i stream videos using xmoov... My visitors complaints and i cant tell to anyone to uninstall, restart, install flash player cause they just leave the page... must be smth else... :((((((

same problem on one computer but videos play fine on other computers. It doesn't seem to matter how long the video is. It will stream for the length but stops when it gets to the last 19 seconds. If the video is 24 seconds, it will last 5 seconds while the audio continues; it if is one minute long it will stream for 41 seconds, then go black for the last 19 seconds. If I try to repeat, it stays black. I have to turn off media player and start again to continue this cycle. So what is the solution other than use the other computers to play videos. It's not just limited to media player as other players are doing the same thing.

OK, I got the solution. My video streaming was stopping during the last 19 seconds of whatever video I was playing, regardless of its length. If it was 40 seconds long it would play for 21 seconds, then the video would stop while the audio continued to the end. If it was 24 seconds long, it would play for 3 seconds. Couldn't find any help on the internet, but I continued running tests. I finally found how to fix it today.

Try this: media player\help\tools\options\performance\video acceleration. Move from full to half performance.

When i go to download a video it start on sound but looses sound and video stops playing.

Oops, put in an extra step that leads nowhere. Bring up Media Player and stop it from playing a video. Go to the menu on the top left. Click on tools, then options, then performance. About half way down the page, see "video acceleration". Move the slider from full to half performance. Save! Now my videos play all the way through in any player. Let me know if this solves your problems.

Try this: media player\tools\options\performance\video acceleration. Move from full to half performance.

Someone suggested to disconnect to the home router and plug directly to your network provider's box. I did that and the broken streaming are now gone. Remains to see if I can patch my D-Link box or do anything to make it work smoothly again.

TURN OFF ADD-BLOCK PLUS. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM ON MY COMPUTER.

Adblock Plus is a Firefox add-on. Look for the ABP icon to the right of your search bar. Click the down arrow and deselect "Enable Adblock Plus". Once you finish your video you can re-enable it.
