Installing media player in Joomla

9 replies [Last post]

Hey, so I'm pretty new to Joomla and how everything works, maybe someone here knows enough to help me integrate the longtail media player into Joomla. Right now, I have some videos on my site that are just raw mp4's...I'd like to put them all into one media player.

Simply put, how do I use this media player in Joomla?

You could try this: http://www.longtailvideo.com/addons/modules/38/AllVideos-Plugin-(for-Joomla)-?q=

(Haven't used it myself, don't know the quality of it.)

I saw this in another forum:

The easiest way to embed anything in Joomla is to use Jumi. You create the .html file with the jw player and just embed it anywhere you want on your Joomla site with Jumi. Just search for "jumi joomla" on Google and you'll find it.

From that same forum: I also heard that the all videos plugin doesnt work too well...

There are many good video players on the Joomla extension site, AllVideos is a great plugin, just read the options section inside the plugin settings page.

and thats one way of showing videos from youtube and easy to embed in your docs

You can try JW Media Player v1.1 - has 12 skins and plays YouTube Videos as well...

Thanks so much Don because that sounds like a real solution.

I want to embed an audio testimonial within my Australian real estate - www.propertynow.com.au I would obviously like an audio player to be embedded with public controls etc.

I'm going to Google "jumi joomla" just as you suggested. I'm glad I saw your post before trying to us a plugin/module for everything. Thanks again - Andrew. Australia.

EVERYHWERE I SEE THIS INSTRUCTION - but as a newbie...it isn't enough info.....

WHERE DO YOU PUT THIS EXACTLY?

WHERE IS MY PLAYER THAT I HAVE INSTALLED??

it is allvideo - I see it in the backend....but it seems odd to be that I cant just enable it....and then see it somewhere when I hit preview

thanks

Any solution to the above mentioned

You just copy and paste that code above into your content/article. It's as simple as that. Make sure you install and activate the plugin first though!
