Youtube videos not working for me

12 replies [Last post]

I have looked through the other forum posts & havent been able to find the right answer. I'm trying to play youtube videos in the longtail player. I have the player & yt.swf in the same dir. I am using the swf loader in flex. to load the file

longTailVideoPlayer.load("longtail/longtailPlayer4.4.swf?type=youtube&file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4s4v5G2T-Q");

when I hit play i get error 2032 url not found yt.swf.

the video works on the long tail setup wizard.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help

Bumping this. I am having the same problem. Using Druapl with Emfield. Have it checked for Youtube videos to play in JW, have the player and yt.swf referenced properly and both in the same file... yet it doesn't work. All other videos display properly, so it's not an issue with Emfield.
Anyone know what's going on here? A big portion of my videos are coming from Youtube and I'm solely using JW everywhere else on my site, so I really need this working to keep things uniform.

Anyone???

I have the same problem, anyone can help?

I have the same problem too...

I have all recently upgraded files in the same folder... but I could not able to play youtube videos... ... plz help me...

I think youtube did something to it's API to make it so youtube videos no longer play without the youtube player. It worked for me with the viral player a couple of weeks ago, but doesnt work now.

Any ideas?

actually, youtube videos arent even working on the setup wizard on this site....gotta tell us something.

JW - any ideas?

@ktz
youtube videos are still working on setup wizard ... these videos are working for some other people too...
I think there is some thing wrong with our files...get recent player 378 ... and try ...

hey Raj, just updated to the most recent viral player and still a no go :/ Any other ideas?

I read in another thread that it might be an isolated problem on mac. Are you using IE on a pc? (dont know why that would make a different to be honest...but...)

I have the same problem... but u need to update u r player to 4.6.x ... go through the posts in this forum...

yeah, i updated to 4.6.x and updated the yt.swf to boot, still no dice :( Did you get yours working?

aha. got it.

I had to add "?type=video" to the end of my youtube urls for some reason. Youtube must have changed something in the last couple of weeks that broke the player on certain systems (seeings as not everyone seems to be having this issue all of the sudden, but a fair few are).

Did you get it working with that??

briefly, looks like it might have stopped working. :/
