You tube playlist stopped working

However it is not a nice problem it is good to see that I'm not the only one.
I have the same problem since yesterday (11-06-08).

The YouTube files are still working on You Tube. The pasted code(only the small nummer and letter combination) inside the FLV-playlist is still the same as the working one on YouTube , but is not working anymore in the FLV. Just a black screen. Other content of the mixed playlist (mp3, jpg, flash) is still working. So it seems not to be a general problem but specific to YouTube!

I hope someone knows why this is happening.
Maybe a direct question to Jeroen Weijering. The creator!!

you dont mention which platform, but a couple of days ago there was a windows update -
so maybe you have a firewall problem or need to reinstall the flash browser plugin?

I've indeed seen that Youtube has changed the location of their API. i have no clue if this is an error or permanent.

I'll fix this ASAP in the 3.x player. For now you can swiftly use the 4.0 player, in which even Youube playlists work:

looks like it started working again.............i had the same problem yesterday with my youtube playlists, just blank screen.

But now everything just started working again.

I think youtube was messing around with their servers then !!!

@eBuddy - dont go back to the old player ! - but wait a few days and see if the problem goes way - youtube are having trouble

they use a completely different method - and it can stop working anytime too! because youtube change those download links!
when you use the new player - the files are fetched using the official youtube api method - that is supposed to be stable...

I am having this problem with youtube and dailymotion, the screen goes all white/blank. I have uninstalled & re-installed Java but doesn't seem to work.

I heard something about uninstalling Flash, dont know which to uninstall

Ive found answer on some website:

Tools > internet options > security tab > custom level > scripting > enable > ok > apply > ok

I was wondering if anybody could tell me why my computer wont play streams i have the flash player and everything just nothing that has a stream such as music and video wont play or just shows a black screen or nothing at all im new to computers so any help or advice would be helpful thanks in advance

My Youtube has been giving me nothing but a blank screen for months. I system restored back to a time when I know it was still working but no luck. I tried to install adobe flashplayer and nothing. I use avant browser, but I also tried it on explorer and I get the same result. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Finito. Goose egg. Wtf?

i tried every videos but it always says that the video is no longer availible. it says that on every video that i play.
does anybody know what is happenning? any idea to solve the problem?

Guys, there's another problem with YouTube playlists that started for me personally yesterday. I cannot add any videos to may playlist, even though the playlist I'm trying to add videos to aren't even full. After clicking the 'Add' button, the page returns to the top of the screen and if I click on the video player, the tab heading changes to '#' instead of 'Youtube - [name of video]'. I've never had a problem with my playlists until yesterday, so I need help pronto...please...

We have a youtube playlist - displaying via longtail player. Worked for the past year or so - perfectly.

Not sure when the problem first occured - but now - it pulls the playlist (the thumbnails and video descriptions appear) - but when you click to play the video - it just spins the little "loading icon" and then goes back to listing the playlist.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions??

I don't completely understand your problems but if anyone has problems with playing your playlist on your channel if not logged in:

Log in, go to your channel (by clicking on your youtube-name), click on 'edit' (upright), and change featured content set to 'all my stuff'.

Dumb YouTube with their forced ugly new channel design can no longer link directly to a playlist. That just sucks.

^Truth, that. Their new, newb designers on board there have certainly succeeded in frigging things up.

Ummm Youtube won't let me play a playlist on anyone's page... why??? Help....... grrr

Hi! I use YouTube like, a LOT (although it probably isn't compared to others, but that's not the point.), and recently, whether it's because of the new YouTube updates or something else, YouTube doesn't work AT ALL until I refresh my browser. And refresh... and refresh...

I strted using Google Chrome browser to play you tube playlists and it works a lot better than IE or Firefox.

SOLUTION FOUND!!!

After trying to modify the crossdomain.xml file, the object file, the javascript, etc etc etc I realized that there was a yt.swf file which I overlooked. So after replacing each of the new files 1 by 1 it finally worked when I replaced this one.

You need to "re-download" the new version of the JW Player, in particular the yt.swf which has been modified in the new version (after youtube updated their api and made everything stop working)

If you don't want to re-download everything and save re-coding just:

1. Download the new version of JW Player
2. Unzip/extract it
3. Copy the new "yt.swf" file and replace it where ever it's on your server.

RESULT: No more "waiting for gdata.youtube.com....."

If you try to play a video in the main YouTube screen ,you can click on the tiny rectangular icon in the bottom right corner of the player screen, the video will popout in a seperate box and play normally. also you can click on the name of the person that uploaded the video and it will take you to their youTube channel page. You can view the video in their channel window.

Quick question -- I have an existing playlist already setup through youtube. It contains 22 videos. And it worked fine. I went to add a new video to youtube in the same playlist and now, the new video does not show up in the list?

The file is in the playlist on my youtube account.

Any ideas?

In the wizard, I tried to play a youtube playlist after inserting its "PLAYLIST_ID" but didn't work.
I used the following:

and also I tried this:
