Playlists Design

2 replies [Last post]

OK guys ... help me... I have given up.

Go to my page http://www.shaddyshow.com/experimental/flvplayer_playlists.php

You see FLVPlayer 3.14, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3beta ni action

My Playlists should look like in 3.14. The font in this player was small enough to have a thumnail + text without problems.

In 4.x versions the font is huge (why??) and longer texts just get cutted.

There must be a way to fix this!!!

I bought 2 licenses and I am about to buy that 200 € license. But if my problem doesnt get fixed then I will look for another player :(

Not only me, also other people have a lot of problems with the new version. OK, they have some nice features like this skins stuff, but why half of the flashvars got kicked out and changed?? The changes from 3 to 4 were amazing and it's so hard for webmasters to get back that design which they used before!!!

Shaddy

I have the same problem :(

It truly sucks IMO.

I don't think there is a way of changing it. I asked kLink once but he said that there isn't a basic way of doing it.

...

Ok well my question to him was more on the lines of the size of each track...but it's pretty much the same thing xD

P.S. Naughty naughty D:
(it's your site...so w/e, I'll drop it there)

One thing to keep in mind, is that the v3 player was up to v3.16, so a lot of bells and whistles and refinements had been added since v3.0.

To enable the next great leap, Jeroen had to add the facilities for plugins, skins, and the other addons. He also had to move forward to ActionScript3. The v4.x player is basically a complete re-write of the player and at v4.3.x is already quite capable.

Maybe you should stay with the v3.x player for a little while longer unless you are willing to do some Flash programming for skins and plugins. Eventually, there will be more skins, hopefully someone will make one with the look and feel of the v3.x player for those who still want it.

Meanwhile, I like the tremendously expanded capabilities of the v4.x player (like the much more capable API and the plugins) and am willing to live with minor annoyances like the playlist track display for a while.

And don't forget that we're all at the mercy of Adobe (some of these problems are ActionScript3/Flash Player 9/10 related).

and that's my ¢27…
