I don't want the JW Player to create any Flash Cookies - is this possible?
Thanks!

So when my clients ask me "What's in the Cookies your Player leaves on my PC?" - what do I tell them?

It leaves nothing. Flash creates these files themselves.

But not all players do. Wouldn't it be a good idea for JW Player not to create a cookie it does not even need? With all these (valid!) fears about privacy invasion...

Flash creates the cookies itself. Please show me a player which does not create any. Thanks.

I use the Flash Settings Manager (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html) to block all flash cookies. When I go to YouTube, no cookie is created. But when I go to a site with JW Player, there is an entry on the 'Website Storage Settings panel' (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html). This entry is empty, but it's there. That's why I have privacy concerns with your player.

Thanks for sharing the information about that product, I have never used the product before. Are you using the default player, or the version with the Viral plugin?

I use the default player. Interesting enough: your player on www.longtailvideo.com does not create a cookie on my machine. Maybe it's the copy-protection-mechanism?

Can you show me where it creates a cookie on your site?
On what page are you not seeing the cookie generates on our site?

My answer will come in a private mail...

Ok, thanks.
Not without modifying the player's source code, unfortunately.
