Problems with Adobe Flash Player 10

182 replies [Last post]

Hi, I have a problems ...Hi, I have a problems with adobe flash player 10

when i use adobe flash player 9, jwplayer 4.2 working well.

but, adobe flasy player10, i got a problem. player didn't show anything. just blank.

here's my page. http://moviestory.net/1503

With Adobe Flash player 10 my streaming flv not playing with parameters:
&controlbar=none&autostart=true&displayclick=none&mute=true.

If I add controls playback starts only after second time I push play button (even with latest 4.2 version).
However everything works fine with flash 9 player.

@Stephan - i can not find any JW-player on your page - are you sure its there? have you tried a test page with just a player ?

@Woody - when i try your page in various browser and with various flash plugins - it just doesnt work at all anywhere...
have you tried with a simple test page with just a player ?

also make sure your flash plugins are actually working - sometimes a deinstall is needed for the update to function !
adobe flash versiontest - http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
adobe flash deinstall - http://kb.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
adobe flash install - http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

@andersen,

For Stephan:

<embed src="http://moviestory.net/attachment/4902cf7346be2EO.swf" width="640" height="292" bgcolor="FFFFF" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="file=http://moviestory.net/attachment/490afe99e369dEI.mp4&amp;image=http://cfs15.tistory.com/image/11/tistory/2008/10/31/21/48/490afe9a02cd4&amp;logo=http://cfs4.tistory.com/upload_control/download.blog?fhandle=YmxvZzc4MzY3QGZzNC50aXN0b3J5LmNvbTovYXR0YWNoLzAvMDkwMDAwMDAwMDEyLnBuZw==&amp;volume=100"/>

I don't have Flash 10 installed, so it looks OK to me.

@Stephan and kLink

ok, when i try http://moviestory.net/attachment/4902cf7346be2EO.swf directly in the browser address line it downloads as player.swf ! (not sure how that happens - some sort of mod_rewrite or indirection maybe? )

now, if i replace http://moviestory.net/attachment/4902cf7346be2EO.swf with player.swf the above code works fine with flash10 - displays logo and preview and plays the widescreen movietrailer from moviestory.net without a hitch...

@andersen

New testing example: http://www.ventumnet.ru/test (Player version 4.1.60)
Works with flash plugin 9 but not 10 version.
JW Player version 4.2.95 doesn't work either.

I think the problem is that flv is a stream. It's generated by VLC from outdoor webcam.

@Woody

when you say it works with flash9 - it is conceivable that the increased security of flash10 has has something to do with it -

unfortunatly there is much about streaming i dont know, so i can only give the general advice, that the problem will have to be broken down into managable pieces - try first with a known good .flv file uploaded to your site - will that work?

then try with a known good stream such as this rtmp stream -
http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?page=wizard&example=4
or this lighttpd stream -
http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?page=wizard&example=16

if these work we know your player works and the problem is with VLC somehow...
(and others will have to take over from there im afraid)

I have another issue with flash player 10. I keep having to reinstall it even though is in my programs list in add/remove programs. every time I restart my computer and go to a website that requires it i'm told that I need to install flash player 10. so I install it again, and everything works fine until I restart, and I have to go through the whole process again. anyone have any suggestions?

SOME VIDEOS PLAY AND SOME DON'T .I HAVE THE 10,SO WHAT'S GOING ON

I have big problems with it as well, after playing a game on the pc the page just goes totally blank, its driving me mad! I did a system restore to the week preceding the installation and everything was working fine except comp kept telling me to install the update, I had no choice but to upgrade and its happening all the time now. Particularly on facebook.

What do you suggest, I de-install flash 10 and reinstall flash9?

I have the same problem with flash player 10 and have tried everything but still it does not work-

- unistalled using revounistaller and then adobe uninstaller and other utilities
- then restart or sign out
-then reinstall
-then restart

and every time it stated that the installation was successful but still keep telling me that I need flash

also did install version 9 and encountered the same issue.

Like others here we need a solution to resolve this problem and appreciate if someone could come forward with a workable solution.

Thanks

it would be good to know what computer platform/operating system/browser you guys are having those flash10 problems on !

as lots and lots of people have no problems with flash 10 - it is somehow problems with your local systems -

if you are on vista systems or other systems with "enhanced" security and/or multiple user accounts, there will be settings to allow (or prevent) access to programs and plugins and folders etc. - my best guess is that this is the cause of the trouble...

I am using IE/windows Vista, with no other users but me!! but, I am on another forum and I am maybe one of two thousand people moaning about this new update!! The conclusion is Adobe flash 10 works best with Firefox and not IE.......

My internet connection was automatically closed down more than 20 times today, fault...Adobe flash10oc add-on.

I feel your pain. Downgrade to XP and FP9.     :D

Thanks Klink but I can't just downgrade can I!!

Its just done it again...adobe flash a.ocx add-on.....aaaaggghhhh

i have flash 10.0.12.36 installed on three vista machines and five xp machines without the slightest hitch !

this is how i would try do in your situation: (please note that the menu points might be called slightly differently)

deinstall flash - restart
open IE - select "functions/advanced settings" and reset "advanced settings" to default
open IE - select "functions/programs" and select "administrate addons" check flash has gone, and "deactivate" everything
restart - update window vista - restart
update windows vista again ! (yes, there will be patches for the updates...)
check "controlpanel/system"- make sure you have "service pack 1" (can take hours to download !)
else update again - restart
install flash
open IE - "functions/programs" and select "administrate addons" check flash has appeared - leave other stuff deactivated

check that it finally works - else bring your machine to a service shop...
report here ;)

hope this helps...

I've been having the same problem with Flash for months now, I've been running Vista now for over a year and never encounter problems with Flash until a few months ago. I think "Andersen" might be on the right track, its probably an enhanced security and/or multiple user account issue relating to Vista or sometype of conflict with another program's security or a conflict with Vista and Flash 10.

I've updated Vista, did a clean uninstall of Flash, reinstalled it a dozen times....same problem. Im going to try and figure out when I installed Flash 10 and find out if or what other programs I've installed or downloaded since the upgrade of Flash.

Same problem for me on Vista Ultimate with the latest version of Flash. No problem on XP. It's just a Vista compatibility with the new version.

The easy way out for this problem (and including Java) is to use Firefox. Out of frustration with uninstalling and reinstalling both Flash and Java (Vista) many times using Interent Explorer, I decided to open those sites that need Java and Flash with Firefox and it works on opening without a hitch.

Going back to IE to see if it works - still a problem!!!

Hope this helps.

Richard, I tried that, installed firefox used the site I usually go on and it said I required flash, so I tried at least 10 times to download flash (even though it was installed already on my pc but I suppose linked to IE) and I couldn't get it to download, it kept telling me it was downloaded but going back onto my site it still was asking for it!

Dear Developers,

My player is always working fine outside the proxy servers but it was even working fine inside the intranet proxy server just upto Flash Player 9. On the machines on which I have updated it to Flash Player 10 it isn't working i.e it only supports the direct internet connections !!!

I'm using clients as Windows XP/2K and have configred a proxy server in the 'Internet Options' in the Control Panel of Windows. Earlier it was working whether I was behind the proxy servers where there is NO direct access to the Internet .

Now here is the catch. If I make a custom player using Adobe Flash CS3 then it plays even inside the proxy servers but my customer players aren't as advanced and attractive like JW Player so I was thinking that what the hell is wrong with its COMPATIBLITY with Adobe Flash Player 10 !! Everything was working fine till 9 and suddently things went wrong when I installed Adobe Flash Player 10.

@Vibs

there are a lot of quite complicated "enhanced security features" in flash 10 - heres a link explaing some of it -http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security.html

i downloaded adobe flash player 10 then when i come to install it it says

NSIS error : the isntaller you are trying to use its corrupted or incomplete .............

can anyone help me
thx

then something probably went wrong during the download - try download again...

i tried this and nothing happend

I use America Online 9.0 Security Edition SE

I am one of those myspace freaks, and my player won't load. When I right click it, it says something about Adobe Flash Player, so I went and tried to install the newest flash player.

But it just wouldn't pop up.
And the golden bar didn't come at the top of the screen.

I tried Shockwave, and it downloaded just fine, except for the fact, that I found out it didn't fix my flash any.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I uninstalled FP 9 and installed FP 10 but when I go to certain sites (CBS or Best Buy -to veiw their ad) I am told that I need FP 9. So, do I uninstall FP 10 and reinstall FP 9?

oh, I have WXP & use IE.

Hi everyone,

I just recently upgraded to Flash CS4.

I was working on an assignment in my Flash class and for some odd reason, my buttons were not functioning. It is a very simple little assignment using ActionScript 3.0, event listeners for navigation...

Anyway, long story short.. I was pulling my hair out because it wasn't working! I cross-referenced my scripts with previous assignments and everything checked out, but it still would not work.

Finally while saving my FLA file as CS3 version to zip files for class (my class uses CS3) suddenly it worked! So for some reason, my file works as a CS3 version, but not CS4. I noticed that CS3 version uses Flash Player 9, while CS4 uses Flash Player 10.

Anyone who understands what is going on here, please let me know! I greatly appreciate the clue in, because frankly, I'm stumped! :P

Namaste,
Dey

just want to share what I discover...

I have identical codes.

I uploaded one set to linux and another on windows server..

in windows server i have no issue.. in linux it is not displaying..

FYI

This player rocks!!!

I found this i-language website which is great for learning English as I'm doing some research on teaching. The problem is while it states the need of macromedia flash player to play the audio, the installed player doesn't appear at all. If you right click at the place where the player is supposed to be, it shows "...About flashplayer10..." as if it's there but you just can't see it! Why is this happening? I've tried everything but still fail to see my invisible flash player. I'm using firefox in windows.
Pls help! I'm in desperate need!

How do I correct this error?

I was having the same problem with Flash Player 10 not showing my videos. So, what I did is went back to the most recent Flash File that did not have a debugger file also. This would be Flash Player 8, and my videos run just fine.

I am still trying to figure out why 9 and 10 do not run videos. I am using Windows XP sp3.

Help! I have the same problem. Initially, my computer had no problems of playing videos on most websites. However, some certain websites say that I have to install at least flash player 9.0 in order to play videos on that website. After I clicked "play" button, I failed to play videos and a message say "videos stream is not found". Even though I installed FP 10.0, I still cannot play videos on that site! What's going on here ?

i try to install adobe flash player 10 it fails and says
"cannot create temporary disk file. perhaps your hard disk is full?"

i have 83.5 gb left on my hard disk i dont see that as full....help please?

I have the same problem as Chris has, i can't download it because of the warning that Adobe sends me. I can't access any videos because they keep asking me for the latest Adobe flash player...

"cannot create temporary disk file. perhaps your hard disk is full?"

Use "Complete Standalone Installer" from here:
http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html

I am having the same problem with Flash 10 as a few other people in this thread. I have two Macs, one has Flash 10 and the other has Flash 9. My online videos play fine with Flash 9, but the exact same online videos will not play with Flash 10 - it is simply blank with no indication that there is a video or video player on the screen. Only when I right click on the area where the video should be I can tell that there is flash embedded there. Flash 10 has issues. Hopefully someone will find a solution soon.

Perhaps your hard disk is full, i get the excat same response even when i have 30 gb free
'LW' i tryd your link n it still doesnt work...:(

Any ideas ??

(read instructions)

2. Close all browsers and applications that may use Flash Player.

Hi i've tried downloading flash player 10 but it says truy troubleshooting, i've looked at the page and have done all of the directions but still it wont work. I've changed my internet settings, but it still wont download can someone help me?

After installing Flash Player Version 10...the 'Quick View' drop downs (Mail and Finance) on AOL 9.0VR were blank. AOL says V 10 is NOT compatible with 9.0VR and Flash Player 9.0 had to be re installed.

Hi - We have had a flash segment in our home page w/no problems until recently when people using v/10 now can’t see it?

I’ve got no clues about this and have tried saving the swf in various versions and all the usually suspected things.

This transcends individuals since everyone using v9 can see it and those w/v10 can’t.

I need any and all expert advice, thanks for your help!

i am an end user of fp10. strange thing happens:
all the play controls buttons, play/pause, progress bar, volume control and full-screen button are all missing. audio and video work fine though, but just all those play controls have disappeared. so now it's like watching a tv set without any controls at all ! please help.

am using 10,0,12,36 version. was searching for help and found this site.

adobe flash player is not properly working

i have installed d new version of FP 10

but still I cant c the videos r playin....

surely more problematic

Problem with Flash Player 10 (XP Home)
If you have a computer with multiple accounts flash Player only works on ONE - very frustrating.
Seen this same complaint by MANY - apparently the only ones not aware of it are Adobe !!!!!!!!!!

I came across a suggestion on another site that wasn't completely related to this issue, but when I tried it my flash player now seems to work without issue - and I was having some serious issues viewing certain videos, and accessing certain flash based sites. Here's what I did:

In the "Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/" folder I deleted the FlashPlayer.pkg and restarted my browser.

I'm still using flash 10.0.12.36, but everything seems to work well now. Maybe others will have the same luck.

I too am experiancing this same frustration....My computor with Win XP and I.E. was working great last week, I downloaded the Flash 10 and now all online vids are gone...When i install the update, it tells me "install successful" but go to youtube to do a test and it comes back with"need to install latest flash player"...even going to adobe troubleshooting and I get "must install latest....."

There is an issue here and how could it be from the MS registry settings and so on as mentioned by adobe...what did this download change, and how do i fix it.....I'm not an IT expert, so I need help...

I was having the same problems.

I finally tried uninstalling an old Adobe AIR install (and a shockwave player install at the same time). After a restart, I was finally able to successfully install the flash player, and have it actually be detected and work at at flash web page.

I think it was the AIR installation, but maybe the shockwave player had something to do with it (????)

FYI, the 'disk full' errors on install may be due to the C: drive not being available (like maybe your win install is on D:, and C: is not accessible, or full). I think the work-around is to map something accessible to C:

Hi
Same problems as everyone else - the Flash Utility uninstall (closing all browsers and IM progs) worked fine for me after reinstalling AFP 9. From what I read on the Adobe Website - AFP 10 messes about with your registry permissions / default security permisions .. which is fine if you regularly script but not otherwise ...

hi flash playert 10 the are no play longer cilps so what about it now. plz tell me fast.......

It seems the problem is some Flash content with a limit, i.e. you need at least version 7-8 only looks at the first number. Then it thinks I'm using Flash Player 1, not 10. Yes. It happened with me an online game. "You are using Flash Player 1"

Hi i can't download adobe flash player 10 for some reason!

it says that it has failed to download and go to the flash player support center but i've tried all thier sollutions and none have worked what do i do ;.;

Are Adobe aware of these problems...?

i think so i dunno for sure

I have the same issue as "Problem":

I downloaded adobe flash player 10 then when i come to install it it says

NSIS error : the isntaller you are trying to use its corrupted or incomplete .............

Any idea ???
Thanks a lot

Hello,
I was just troubleshooting a very similar, if not same, problem as everyone else.
I uninstalled Flash 10 and went back to Flash 9... still I got some video on some sites and on others the "You need to install flash..blah blah"

The solution I've managed to find for me was in the "(not signed)" ActiveX controls.
Namely the "My Points" toolbar. As soon as I disabled that everything ran smoothly.

Hope this helps. :)

OS: WinXP-Pro
Browser: IE7
Admin and 1 User Account with Admin privs

constant!! you must have adobe flashto use this page ihave tried costantly to do this but to no avail to me adobe flash seems to be exclusive .time waster.

why waste my valuable time

T^T please somebody help meh?!

my solution.....flash player installer icon on my desktop, reinstall every time required... sit and wait patiently for new version or fix. :)

I cant install adobe flash player on my computer for some reason. The program wont allow me to and i want to know how!! Any suggestions

I have the same problem as "FP 10 Rocks Not"

Win XP, SP3: Upgraded to Flash 10 and some sites worked but most (youtube) did not. The instructions on this site solved the problem, hope it's of use to the rest of you. Essentially you have to completely remove everything to do with Flash before doing a fresh install. This tells you how to do that. Works for IE7 and Firefox.

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=945195&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&sid=458f9256c09288e8...

LW!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you SO much! It worked, finally! You're my hero.

Adobe definitely screwed with FP10. They should release the fix for that, not forcing people to reinstall the application!

Don't know how or why but F10 on a DELL, Vista Ultimate is working fine for me.

The pity is that because of that I have been merrily putting up copious amounts of video I can see thinking there were no problems until I was informed yesterday that many folk can't see my mp4 vids - so I have to backtrack and re-compress all my vids to flash 8 - maybe 9 to make sure there are no probs.

Thanks Adobe...

it won't let me watch it.

I have a Mac running 10.5.5 Flash10 and it runs and looks fine

for anderson

I couldn't find my Adobe Flash and I couldn't down load.
thank you for putting the removal link - since I couldn't find those programs on my computer (I have Vista and sometimes it hides the programs). So I did the removal and did the new download and all is well.
thank you again.

this article didnt work at all

I have vista and IE8. I have upgraded to Flash Player 10 and suddenly i can't watch videos in www.tudou.com (chinese drama website) but I can watch before the upgrade.. I wrote to Adobe and have tried uninstalling, do a cleanup and reinstall, and try at least 4 or 5 other tactics advise by Adobe but still cannot solve and in the end Adobe advise me to write to Internet Explorer Support Centre as they think there is no problem with flash player 10 as I have tested as advised by them flash player 10 is working and properly installed. They think there is some conflicts component between IE and flash player. But I didnt write to IE support centre..cos difficult to get thru..

One good news.. maybe works for others too is that I downloaded Mozilla Firefox use this browser to watch videos on that website and it works..so I think there is some problem with Adobe Flash Player 10 and IE.

You can download Mozilla Firefox at this website www.download.com. Look for the version with the best ratings..

Hope the above helps !

I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD IT AND IT DID BUT I GOT ADOBE 8 AND STILL NOTHING IS WORKING WAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!

Hi Mohamed,

I can share with you my experience..I have downloaded Flash Player 10 and sincce FP 10 and IE does not work. I uninstall FP10 and did a cleanup of the files of FP (sometimes you need to do a cleanup in order to be able to install to a later version). After cleanup, I reinstall FP 9, thinking the old version will work with IE. However, it doesn't, Istill unable to watch videos in that website. And I tried Firefox with FP 9, and they tell me to download the latest version. And I install back FP 10 and now I can watch but only with Firefox but not IE..still back to square one. I think you can try Firefox with FP 9 as though it might not work for me in that website, it might work for your computer..being my computer is vista, not sure wat is yours.. XP ? If you cannot, try FP 10 and still cannot they have another version which is Adobe Flash Player Active 10x, which I have to download this version in order to watch in Firefox..

Hope the above helps.

I've been in the same boat as most of you with the Flash Player 10 problems. I've searched high and low for days and weeks trying to find a fix. This may or may not work for everyone but I know how frustrating and time consuming it is to try and fix so I hope my solution helps someone else out there?

My Problem was...
Downloaded Flash Player 10 on my WinXP Home Edition and upon reboot i lost my sound and had problems getting online and when I did get online I had problems staying online. The culprit behind those problems was Spybot... I had to switch to "Advanced Mode" in Spybot and toggle with the check boxes in settings and so forth. So i got my sound back and fixed the problem with getting and staying online.

Meanwhile I still wasn't able to view videos on youtube or watch anything video related online. I had Flash Player 10 but none the less I would get the same messages saying I needed to install Flash Player.

My fix....
Go to "Add & Remove Hardware" and remove the Flash Player 10. Now that it has been removed go to the Adobe site and then go to the download FP 10 page. Before you click the yellow "Agree and Install" button.... make sure you click on the blue link above that asks you what your type of computer/operating system your working from (not sure exactly what the link reads as I already downloaded it) click on that link and it will bring you to a page with 2 drop down boxes, just enter your information... 1st what your system is and 2nd what browser you use. Now go ahead and click the "Agree and Install" button. Once the download is complete you should be good to go. No need to reboot!

Missing your JW player after installing Flash Player 10 on Windows Vista?

Try the solution on the Adobe Support site here:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19166&sliceId=1

Follow the instructions under the heading 'Windows Vista installation failure'.

is there any way that you can download flash player 10 if you aren't an administrator? I have a Windows XP and I tried deinstalling and reinstalling it, but it never works.

also, this computer has multiple accounts, and it works on the administrator. could that be why it doesn't work on mine?

i think you need to be the administrator in order to be able to download flash player 10. I am able to download adobe flash player 10 being an administrator.

For those who have problem watching videos with adobe flash player 10 in internet explorer as in my case, I've done all tactics to solve but still not able to. I have called Adobe support and they taught me lots of things to do but still cannot solved. However I can watch the videos with firefox but cannot download, so I still have to use IE with flash player 10.

Coming to an end of methods, I lastly reformat my computer and there it solves my problem. I can watch videos in IE again.

Okay, so I'm only 13 years old and I was going on this one website.

First, when I logged on to my screen, this came up: Error 1706. No Valid Source Could Be Found For Product HP SmartWeb Printing. The Windows Installer Cannot Continue.

Okay. First of all, I have NO IDEA what that means. Then I close out of that window, and go on a game website. My game doesn't come up.

All it says at the top of the screen is: You Need To Upgrade Your FlashPlayer. DownLoad The Latest FlashPlayer For Free! Click HERE. So I clicked there.

It takes me to AdobeFlashPlayer.com or whatever it's called to install it.

I agree to the SOFTWARE LISCENCE AGREEMENT and click to install it.

It says to click the GOLD BAR at the top of the browser. And I go to click it. But the Gold Bar is NOT there!!! So how am I supposed to install it!!! And this all just started today. It never happened before!!! Help Me!!

I'm Not A COMPUTER WIZ!!!

Help¿?¿

yep the same thing is happening to me as alex. were can i find a fix for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem:
WinXP MCE. Installed Flash 10. Sounds works until trying to watch to a flash video in IE7. No sound in IE7 and all sound stops on whole PC (even after closing IE7). Have to reboot to get sound working again.

Solution:
From Windows Update/ Optional Software ...
Install Root Certificate Update.

Works like a charm.

I'm not sure if this will work for everyone but it has worked for me..
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp9
The website above is the adobe support center.
On the site there is a section titled
"Adobe Flash Player 10 — Debugger Versions (aka debug players or content debuggers)"
go to that section and try to download the one that matchs your system.

Oops! Sorry, try this link instead.

Why is it that all these stupid updates are having all these problems. If it were up to me, I'd never install updates, but in order for you to view anything, you have to install them, and then come to find out, they don't work!!! I'm having the same problem as everyone else with this Flashplayer 10. These creators are making good money to make crap that doesn't work. What's the deal?

Flash Player 10 has been updated 5 times since it's release. It has serious issues - especially with Google Video and Youtube. I go to stickam, ustream, blogtv.com - no problem. But YouTube and Google Video, I am told to re-install, reboot - I do, but then next day, same problem - being told to re-install flash. Obviously, YouTube webmasters are trying to fix their pages so that Flash 10 will display properly AND local machines will interpret the correct page code - for web designers, the way you write the lines for flash to work have changed in a BIG way, I had to re-write seven sections of CSS templates (glad i use CSS for just this reason!) so that our pages would play for all. It is BOTH and adobe issue AND a YT/Google Video pages issue.

The following page has good info on how to properly embed flash:
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/tutorials/Embedding-Flash

HOWEVER, it is now ALL WRONG, due to changes in Flash 10.0.22.87 but only specifically wrong for Firefox, Safari, Opera browser, it is wrong in other ways (you now have to account for WHICH browser is viewing your website - remember IE vs. Netscape frames?, now you must seperate and test for 3 different browser types; Gecko, .zilla, and chrome) for IE & Chrome.

I think Adobe got a little nuts forcing this on the webmasters.

in think i have a diferent problem than most of you, my problem is when im watching a video in a webpage this one freeze and the a window pop out saying there is a problem with adobe10x and then the page close by itself... does anyone know what going on?plzzz..

i believe adobe sucks big time

i've been searching in google, and with it latest feature i don't even have to fill in all the text it gives me all the variants.

and the ppl over at adobe have the guts to tell us that there are few users who have this ishue...

it's in google top ten most searched links.
but noooooo.. it's not a common problem..

I have the same problem on different machines,2 on XP+IE6 ,IE7 and one on Vista Prem+ IE7.I am having issues in using messenger. Please help.

ok im having a problem and none of my friends can seem to fix it, even the computer whiz.

i just added a wifi router to my computer and somehow adobe flash player got uninstalled

everytime i try to download it i recieve an error message telling me that the download was incomplete or that there was some problem with the computer the site or that there was a virus (which as far as i know there isnt. ive scanned the computer many times.)

what should i do? please i need this help...

I have a problem that doesn't involve the install... at least not yet.

My computer won't initiate the download to update to Adobe Flash Player 10. No pop-up, no blocked pop-up, no sound, nothing to indicate an error, nothing happens at all when I reach the trigger page. Not even with pop-ups allowed.

I tried uninstalling Adobe Flash. There was an error with the uninstall so I tried to remove Adobe Flash from the add/remove programs list. That didn't work either.

Apparently my computer genuinely believes it has an earlier version of Adobe Flash, but it doesn't actually have it (I suppose it could be the other way around though). It can't be uninstalled, and the updated version can't even be downloaded, let alone installed.

This prevents me from adding music to my page because apparently Adobe Flash Player 10 is now mandatory on the site (myspace). It's getting frustrating quickly because the more I look into this, the more dysfunctional my computer appears in the face of this somewhat paradoxical issue.

So I ask... What the hell is going on here? Is this some conspiracy to rid the internet of music?

But seriously, did Adobe code something wrong, and if they did, why haven't they noticed yet?

Did the administrator of this computer (my landlord) restrict my user privileges to the point that I can't update things or remove programs?

If so, then why am I able to use torrent programs, update certain programs (excluding Adobe Flash), and install new programs from the internet?

I'm somewhat experienced with computers, but I'm no whiz kid. None of this makes sense to me in the context of the situation.

If anyone has any useful information, please email me at:
brendanbutte@bresnan.net

Many thanks.

When i go to download flash player 10 it say i already have it installed but whenever something requires flash the other sites say i dont have it?
im totally lost and need help

Have had the problem:"Flash Player installer finishes with no error, but Flash content cannot be viewed in Internet Explorer."

Information from the Adobe website seems to have solved the problem. TN_19166 says that it is important to uninstall all previoious versions of Flash Player before installation of the latest version and TN_14157 say "you can now remove the player only by using the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller." The uninstaller is available in the same Technical Note.

This step by itself did not solve my problem. But TN_19166 also says: "If the ActiveX Control for Flash Player fails to install, download the executable installer." The file is available in the Technical Note (Install_Flash_Player_10_ActiveX.zip).

After following both of these steps my problem was solved.

C:\Users\Julie\AppData\Local\Temp\rXTeoxyL.exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

My friend sent me the installation, but it won't install. It'll say that the installation is complete but I can't seem to find it in add/remove hardware, and I am still unable to watch any youtube videos.

Adobe Flash Player 10, Ubuntu 9.04, & Firefox 3.5

Getting Adobe Flash Player 10 to function has been causing problems for a lot of people on a lot of systems.

Problems varied. Some web sites worked, some yielded a blank space, others seemed to yield a non page without navigation or movement. Sometimes there was what looks like a non functional window with a video control bar, a caution symbol and a spinning object.

There are also those who keep having to reinstall it even though is on the programs list in add/remove programs. After the fresh install everything works fine until a restart, and I have to go through the whole process again.

The cryptic solution to all of these problems is, “deinstall flash, reinstall, and restart.”

Using Ubuntu 9.04, Firefox 3.5, and Flash Player 10, there are at least three ways I thought of to attempt to accomplish that goal.

As a moderate computer user, I did not figure out how to do it from the Terminal.

The next unsuccessful attempt involved the following strategy. Since I had used Add/Remove from the Applications Tool bar drop down menu, I looked for Flash applications using the search function in that window. I selected anything connected to Adobe Flash Player of any version, Swfdec Flash Player, Macromedia Flash plugin, and Gnash SWF Viewer, and removed them. Then I used
the same menu to install Adobe Flash Plugin 10. Problems were not solved.

The successful strategy involved selecting the drop down menu from the tool bar, System-Administration-Synaptic Package Manager. Then I did a quick search of anything relating to Flash. I selected anything relating to Adobe Flash Player of any version, Swfdec Flash Player, Macromedia Flash plugin, and Gnash SWF Viewer, and removed them.

Just for good measure, I restarted my computer before using the Synaptic Package to do a quick search for Adobe Flash Player 10. At the top of the list was flashplugin-installer 10.0.22.87ubuntu2 Adobe Flash Player plugin installer. I selected that choice and let Synaptic Package Manager do its job.

For me, there was something the Synaptic Package manager found and removed that allowed a successful install of Flash Player 10.

I have Win XP using IE and Chrome browser. I initially have the same issue above with Flash 10 where video was displaying frame every 6-7 seconds and not fully streaming. I was finally able to resolve it. You must close all programs, browsers, and especially Instant Message (Yahoo, MSN, etc.). Don't just go by the Adobe message or flash window saying installation complete. I did not have a successful install until I closed out my MSN messenger.

Here's the link to "Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows" http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

1. Use the deinstaller to uninstall all components of Flash.
2. Go back to Adobe's website to download the Flash player.
3. Click the Get Flash Player.
4. When Adobe's Download Manager appears, make sure you close out everything including the current browser with Adobe. Just have Adobe's Download Manager on the desktop.
5. Click Install/Download.
6. Success install. Check for success Flash install by going to your favorite streaming video site like youtube.com and see if the video stream works.

Hope this helps everyone out there.

I'm trying to install flash player 10 for firefox but nothing happens .IE is working OK.
"Download menager" says that the file is downloaded and installed but I still have version 9 on firefox..
Anyone idea what's wrong?

WinXP Home-SP3, IE8, AOL 9.1, Flash 10, Intel Celeron.

Everything worked fine until Microsoft pushed IE8 on top of IE7 and Adobe put Flash 10 in place of Flash 9.

Since these changes, Adobe keeps wanting to install Flash 10, even though it is already on and working!

Is the only remedy to just roll back to the old versions? Oh, yes...and to disable automatic updating, also?

Thanx, bunches, for ANY help!

Just to add to the chorus, Flash 10 royally screws up my system. Version 8 of the player works fine, if I update to 9 or 10 video playback in my Hauppauge card freezes after a few seconds, my audio driver randomly stops working, etc.

These problems can be consistently reproduced: revert back to Flash 8 and everything works fine.

Direct question: does anyone know what Adobe's Flash Player is doing to my system codecs?

I've been using the JW mediaplayer 4.2 successfully on our local blues jam website for several months now. Here's the homepage, with the player onboard:

http://www.coachandhorsesbluesjam.com/home.shtml

I run Windows 2000 on a PC with an Athlon 3000 processor and 2GB of DDR. Earlier this week, my brand new installation of Firefox 3.5.3 prompted me to download the latest version of the Adobe flash player 10 plug-in. I did so.

Ever since, Firefox can't run the JW flash player at all. It makes a total mess of trying to stream my .flv files. The spinning download progress indicator jumps randomly up and down from one number to another, and if the video ever manages to get to the point of beginning to play, it freezes and quits soon after.

I tried installing the new JW version 5 player on the website to see if it would improve matters, but it made no difference. Firefox 3.5.3 clearly does not get on with the new Adobe 10 flash player plug-in!

As I understand it, the Adobe plug-in is used in common by all of my browsers. IE6, IE7 and Opera 10 don't have any problems playing the files, so I'm left with the conclusion that this is an issue specific to the latest version of Firefox.

I'll now have to put an announcement on the Blues Jam website warning our Firefox users not to "upgrade" their flash plugin.

Hi everybody. i've got the same issue as everybody has. The same thing happened to me just 4 days ago. I was using Mozilla firefox 3.5.2 and IE7. I decided to upgrade to IE8 and to Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 and unfortunately to Flash Player v.10 the last one. Since that moment, just a few days ago I've tried to find a solution to that big issue.

Now I can only watch some videos on some websites. But there are many websites that it's been really difficult to load the videos.

Hope this can be solved asap with a new fixed update or something similar....and abou Flash Player, it's unbelievable to know that many people have had this issue since last year and soluiton from Adobe....

Well, Adobe, I will NOT be shutting down my firewalls to enable installing Flash 10. That's it for us developing anything for Flash and from what I've seen from people who have already managed to get Flash 10 up and running, it is hosing their system and they are more often than not UNABLE to view Flash work online than with Flash 9. Upgrades should be an OPTION and then they should work, don't you think? Another Adobe stumble...and I've been an Adobe fan and loyal customer for years but this version 10 roll out is deplorable.

I was using Firefox and having problems with Adobe Flash Player 10, my pages just kept going blank (when I opened a new tab or when I tried to go on youtube, etc.) so here is what I did and it fixed the problem:

go to Tools on Firefox
click Add Ons
click Extensions
disable Real Player Browser Record Plugin

It fixed the problem for me so you should give it a try.

i cant even install it ?! help please iv tried most things btw

I just spent 2 hrs tracking this down to a conflict with the newest version of Google Page Speed extension. It somehow seems to block any Flash <object> like would be written with swfobject.js.

I install Adube Flash Player 9 and it worked very well .But
now that Flash Player 10 is required I am having problems

TEMPORAL REMEDY FOR JWPlayer on: Firefox 3 + Adobe Flash Player 10 on a Mac OS X won't work

I have had a problem, and the following is my system:

Hardware: MacBook Pro
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8
Browser: Firefox 3.5.4
Adobe Flash Player: 10

I have a JWPlayer on my site. A playlist of youtube favourite videos.

The problem is; in Firefox (including the Safari browser) the buffer wheel spins and video never loads. I tried almost everything until I realised that the problems started after updating Adobe Flash Player 9 to version 10.

I then decided to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10, with this tool: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

And then installed Adobe Flash Player 9, from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

All video are playing in both browsers without any problems.

Now, I hope this problem with Flash 10 in Firefox on Mac's OS X is looked at by Longtail video, because some sites require Flash 10, users like me of JWplayer are in a fix until this problem is resolved.

Is Longtail video looking into this problem?

I can't even download Adobe Flash Player 10.
I have tried downloading it from several different links but it isn't even starting to download. The progress bar is empty and the status reads 0.0% Network error, with my only option being 'close download manager'.
Any help or guidance appreciated.

I was made to install Flash player 10 as the videos stopped playing, and now even though I have unistalled it restarted reinstalled it, nothing will play and keeps saying 'I need the latest Flash player'..Which I have

I have Windows XP and my brower is mozilla...:( helpppp

My brand new Dell FlameThrower is now as slow as my ten year old Dell Cricket Lighter since I installed Flash Player 10. Is there an alternative?

Its not that you have a virus, or something is wrong with your computer. There is something wrong with Adobe Flash Player 10 itself. Just uninstall it, look for Adobe Flash Player 9 on google, then install it. 9 works fine.

When I try to install Adobe Flash 10, it tells me
that

internet explorer has closed this program due to a malicious add on

What do I do?

Sounds like you may have a Virus, I suggest running a Virus Scan.

I am using Flash player 10/FF.
Width of the flash widget gets truncated, But no scroll bars appears on the screen.

Is there a way to solve this issue. Thanks.

Cam you provide a link?

Since installing flash player 10 on my mac, i have been unable to stream programmes from channel 4OD catch up.

I reinstalled flash 9, but 4OD said i had to upgrade to 10 in order to watch the streams. I did this but they wont play. They just won't load

James, what is 4OD?

@Ethan. Its a british television channel that is now streaming programme content online.

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/4od

Just scrolled up and saw iMia's comments. My problem is identical.

The buffer wheel spins and the video never loads. Tried installing flash 10.1 beta, in the hopes they may have fixed the problem, alas, is still doesn't work.

I can't view that site, it doesn't allow me to view the videos.

"The service is not currently available in your area. Click here to access our Help section."

Hi again LongTail.
I have problem with adobe flash player 10 in Hi5.
When I play apllication like SuperPokePet or Organize Crime it was width reduced.

It should be broader than this.

How to fix this problem?

@Ter - We cannot help you with SuperPokePet, as it has nothing to do with our products.

I had trouble loading flash player 10, until I loaded google chrome now it works. Simple to do, search google chrome follow loading instructions. Use as an alternative browser, I can't read my e-mails properly on google chrome but I can use the flash player. Hope this helps some of you out there.

I WILL TRY TO HELP YOU BECAUSE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I READ THREAD I DIDNT FIND ANY ANSWER SO WHAT I DID. I WENT TO THIS WEBSITE PAGE. ((((((((( http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html ))))))))))) COPY PASTE THAT AND THEN SCROLL DOWN TO NUMBER 5. THEN THERES AN OPTION THAT SAYS 1. Download the executable Flash Player installer:

* Flash_Player_10_ActiveX (Internet Explorer for Windows only)
* Flash_Player_10_Plugin (All other Windows browsers)

I CHOSED THIS >>>>>>>> Flash_Player_10_Plugin (All other Windows browsers) AND IT WORKED FOR ME. IM SO HAPPY. I HAVE MOZILLA STILL. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. THANK YOU JESUS :')

@bipin - Can you provide a link to where you are running this?

Getting a white, blank rectangle where the Flash playlist should be:
http://thehall.tv/past.asp

OS: WinXP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 2
Doesn't work on Firefox Version 3.6.3 nor Internet Exporer 6

Mac OS X 10.5.8 *works* on Safari 4.0.4. I can see the Flash Playlist of videos.

Why is this happening?
How can I fix if I've already tried uninstall/re-install of Flash Player 10. I can see Flash on other sites except the page above.

I am unable to reproduce this on XP / Firefox / Flash 10.

Also, you are using 4.0.46 here, which quite old, I would suggest upgrading.

after install nothing i cant see anything why?

spiros - Where are you running this?

To: Ethan LongTail

We're licensed for the old version. Tried the latest version jw-flv-player v.5.1

http://thehall.tv/past.asp

The playlist shows but trying to click to play the videos and nothing happens?!!!

Hi Maya,

Check your streaming server path.

You are using this for example as a playlist entry:

<location>rtmp://cp30293.edgefcs.net/ondemand/FlashMedia/30293/FlashMedia/Kolohekai.flv</location>

But when you are streaming you need to file file and streamer separately.

So for the first playlist entry for example, it should look like this:

<track>
  <title>Kolohe Kai</title>
  <creator>Clear Channel Radio</creator>
  <info>http://www.thehall.tv</info>
  <annotation>Performance - 5/14/2010</annotation>

  <image>http://www.thehall.tv/_library/Images/Ondemand-thumbs/Kolohekai.jpg</image>
  <location>Kolohekai.flv</location>
  <meta rel="type">rtmp</meta>
<meta rel="streamer">rtmp://cp30293.edgefcs.net/ondemand/FlashMedia/30293/FlashMedia/</meta>
</track>

@magicman - On - http://z13.invisionfree.com/Battling_Souls/index.php?act=idx, there is no reference to the JW Player at all.

After downloaded flash plugin and installed it (10.1), after the restart opera kept on asking me to install the flash plugin. (As if i never did).

Solution that worked for me:

- Downloaded the following files: NPSWF32.dll and flashplayer.xpt
- Extracted them
- Copy them on Opera installation dir ... \program\plugins\
- restart opera
- Problem solved

Instructions, links:

While watching a motion loop of radar I could expand with left click, reduce with right click. Not anymore! Right click pops this up every time (so far just this site) with menu:

About Adobe Flash Player 10

How do I disable this annoyance?

Thanks

I like you have had nothing but problems since updating to Flash 10. I was able to view youtube video's etc just fine but my problem was I wasn't able to see video's or feeds embedded on web sites. All I would see were blank boxes.

I did all the install/uninstall Flash 10 stuff to no avail. Then I decided to start playing around with the Settings Manager (which is stored on Adobe's website).

In the "Global Storage Settings panel" I put a check in the box that says "allow 3rd party flash content to store data on your computer". The other box was already checked so I didn't touch it. I closed my browser, opened it again then went to a web site that I was previously UNABLE to view video's and voila, now I could see them again!

Hopefully doing this will help some of you because believe me, I feel your pain!

Hey all, I took a gander through the comments and was thankful to note that I am not the only one having issues with the FP update to 10. However, my issue is with maximizing the screen. If I try to watch a youtube video full screen all I get a green, "zigzaggy" lines. Now I uninstalled the latest and went back to 9 and everything went fine. Now most sites are telling me I need the latest, so I tried 10 again. Guess what, the lines are back, but again, only when I watch things in full screen. Any suggestions? I am operating on XP.

Sincerely,

B.

So good news-- I found a cure in my case that was that none of the videos played on IMDB.COM website with neither of the web browsers (Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome).

After extensive surfing on lots of forums I found this thread here on Adobe Forum http://forums.adobe.com/message/3045554#3045554 and I remembered that I edited recently HOSTS file that can be found in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc . I edited it coz I did not wanted to see advertisement banners in Winamp application. Among other sites there was also a line: 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net which was the reason why IMDB trailers did not start so I removed this line from HOSTS file and left other intact and now everything is OK. Trailers are working perfectly again with the Adobe Flash Player in all browsers as before. Hope someone will find it helpful.

Hi there

I've had this problem for a while now and I came across a site and it's completely fixed literally within seconds.

Go to a site called softwarepatch and download
Flash Player 10.1.82.76 (Complete Standalone Installer)

I tried to post the link but the spam filter triggered and didn't let me post it.

Anyway it worked brilliantly for me so I hope it works for you guys.
Take care

Wasim

Flash Player 10.1.82.76 has many problems and is slower. Playback is jerky and anything that
involves text is broke. Just search on the net at all the problems people are having with it.

Warning don't "upgrade" to it and there is no fix from Adobe as yet or no information from them on when.

@Rob Dueter - Can you provide a link to where you are experiencing the issues?

IE8, Vista Home, Flash Player 10.x - after installing the upgrade or uninstalling the package and reinstalling it pages would report that it was not installed. I looked in Internet Options, Applications, Add-ons and found it was DISABLED. I ENABLED it and seemed to fix the problem. Odd, very odd..
