I use JW Player on a site, and I often see that Firefox gets stuck during a read from l.longtailvideo.com. Why does it do it and how can I disable this?
Thanks in advance

i would like to know exactly WHAT is being transmitted there.... a i like having a tight grip on the privacy of my users.

The JW Player logo is being transmitted there. If you buy a license, it will go away.

@flowlow -
To elaborate, no data is being transferred to l.longtailvideo.com, other than a request to download the logo image which is hosted there.
Ethan is right - licensed players don't load a logo from LongTail.

would be nice to have the logo be a self-contained vector movieclip inside the player. loading external resources is cause for alarm to many people, esp. considering they don't know what's being loaded. plus it isn't advertised that the logo loads externally, so when we see the l.longtailvideo.com status, it looks very suspicious.
i have no problem with the logo requirement, i just wish it could be local.
thanks for the player, i appreciate the effort longtail puts into it.

This might be also preventing a pop up fill out form I created from sending any data out as I intended. I'm just guessing but is this the case?????

The logo would not be preventing any data from being sent by your form.
This is because you are using the unlicensed player. Using the licensed player will stop this from happening.
