need of a license?

4 replies [Last post]

Hi i am a videotographer making my first website.
I would really like to show off my videos with a JW flv player but i doubt if it is a promotion.
Well you can in one sentence say its a promotion of my art.
But also you could say that it is mostly a sharing. That i share my art with the people visiting.

So im pretty confused
Hope you guys can help me out.

Best Regards

Hey Cokehorror (love the name, btw),

Can you send over the URL to your website so we can review? If you haven't launched yet, pls feel free to use the player and if you ultimately decide to use for commercial purposes (ads or selling your work), we would greatly appreciate your support.

Thx and let me know if you have additional questions

Hi Cokehorror,

This is Ethan from LongTail here to help you.

You can use the non-commerical version on your site but if you wish to remove the right click attribution, or remove the watermark, you will need a license.

Please email me directly at ethan [at] longtailvideo [dot] com to follow up if you have any other questions, thank you.

Best Regards,
-Ethan

Hey guys
Thanks once again for your reply.
I might consider the offer of buying a commercial license but ill let that wait for the moment untill i start selling my stuff.
However still about licensing i was wondering if i need to buy a skin license in order to use a skin that i can grab from the website if i use the JW player for noncommercial use?

Best Regards
