Number of commercial licenses

Hello,

we want to order a commercial license for jwplayer. On internet it will be used in one single website, but for testing purposes we'll deploy the web application that uses it on different internal servers. Do we only need one single license?.

In the internet's web site the url will be something like www.our domain.net/

, but we'll deploy it first on our acceptance and test environments where we'll call the application as http://host:port/context

Thanks for your feedback

Jose,

You don't need an additional license for testing environments. One license is enough (for your production site).

hello.
we try to launch a web service having multiple subdomains.
can we use one web site license? or number of subdomains?
thanks.

we have additional conditions.
we have many domain like www.mywebsite.com, www.mywebsite.net, www.yourwebsite.com, www.yourwebsite.net ans so on.
but all domains have to be redirected to one main domain(www.mywebsite.com).
and the player will be embedded in pages of only one domain.
in these case can we use one web site license? or number of domains?

Eunny,

You will need one license for each top level domain.

That means that if you have subdomains like this:
a.somedomain.com
b.somedomain.com
c.somedomain.com

You would only need one license. If, on the other hand you use a
different domain for each language like this:

somedomain.co.uk
somedomain.nl
somedomain.fr

You would need a license for each domain.

Are you performing a 301 redirect to a single domain?

I hope this helps,

Darjan

Hi,
We are using several TLDs that just redirekt to our actual Site. So we only need one license for that site, correct?

Thanks in adavance,

Richi,

If you're performing a 301 redirect then you only need one license.

Our company runs media tests with two competing URLs that are identical (and use the exact same code base). Typically the only variation is the price of the product.

For example, we may have a TV campaign that drives to BuyTheProduct.com and GetTheProduct.com. After 4 weeks (or so) of testing TV media and response, we pull down the site that doesn't perform as well as the other and keep the winner up for the long haul.

Will we need a unique license for each domain? It's not technically a 301, but all URLs land on the exact same site/code with conditional detection to show the correct price.

Thank you kindly,

Matt

Matt,

You need a unique license for each domain. For use-cases like this, we offer heavily discounted 50-pack licenses. For example, a single site license costs $89 whereas a 50-pack costs $199.

Hi There! I Did use player on my web site. Now it start showing " SHARE - like it - share ! and black everything... May be I need to purchase a license, because I did use free version? Thanks

Serg,

Probably you downloaded the player with the built in viral plugin. You need to re-download the player -- uncheck "include viral plugin" -- and upload the new player.swf to your server to disable that feature.
