Hi All,
What are your future plans re: HTML5? Will there be a HTML5 video supported in FW Player - even if only a 'rollback' option?
If so, do you have a timeline on such functionality?
Thanks!
Stu.

I would second this idea. With Firefox 6, Chrome, Safari, and other browsers increasingly building in support for HTML 5, it would be an excellent offering if the JW Player could offer something for browsers that support HTML 5. Additionally, a toggle to go between HTML 5 and Flash would be nice as well as allowing developers to modify the default format to be either JW FLV Player or JW HTML5 Player
Would be great if JW Player would run on the ipad ...
I am going to have to add to the call for a strong look into iPad support for JW HTML5 Player. The potential of both platforms running in tandem would be a boon for many reasons. Thanks for thinking about it, keep up the hard work.
HTML5 support would be an amazing addition to JW Player. I believe this will push JW Player to have a strong foothold in the iPad and iPhone markets. Please let us know what is on the cards.
Regards.
I would also like to add my support for a JW player development that gave compatibility with the Ipad.
I would strongly support the html5 version of JWP.
I agree, HTML5 support would be a wonderful addition.
As I mentioned earlier, this is something we're working on internally. We've finalized a development plan, and will be working on this during the upcoming weeks.
You can keep track of our progress here:

I guess there is something underway:

oops, cross-posting with PabloS
Hope we can see this SOON.
In the meantime, please provide best practices for workarounds, alternatives so iPhone/iPad and others get our content.
This is great news! I'm already using your player on our website, i would defiantly change over when this comes out and update the whole site. I'm a big fan, keep up the hard work. Only wish I could help in some way.
We're releasing the beta tomorrow morning, so stay tuned ...
Did anybody test our new HTML5 player? We'd love more feedback!
I'm just starting testing it now. Liking it so far!
Any timeline for the 1.0 release? (which I imagine will have full screen and some plug-in functionality?)
We'll definitely be eager adopters once that functionality is added! Good work!
Any plans for a version that's library-independent? Or maybe one that works with Prototype?
Are you planning on some kind of plugin support for the HTML5 player? Or a JS API?
I've been trying out the new player, and thus far really liking it, though would like to know if this will eventually support <audio> in addition to <video>? Thanks!
@Sam, @tengil: we'll do the 1.0 somewhere mid summer. (aug 1?). It'll include resizing/fullscreen and a basic plugin API indeed.
@Sunil: The 1.0 will also be library-independent indeed. It'll be a standalone JS that won't conflict with any of the major frameworks.
@sammy: audio tag support is also in the works. Like our Flash and Silverlight players, we'd like this one to play both video and audio.
@JeroenW, long time user of your JW Player. I have never purchased a license, enjoying the open source version instead. When the HTML5 version comes out (and it looks very, *very* good right now), I will buy a license.
Keep up the good work mate!
I have a license, and some dorks on the team want us to switch to flowplayer because they think it's easier to theme. I'm using the html5 support feature as the reason not to"
Yes I've been trying out the html5 player - in fact it's so good we've completely switched over to it and it now runs all our videos. Great to see them on the iPad & iPhone!
Like David, I'll also use this official release to buy a licence as a long time free user, you guys deserve that.
Once the audio tags are done then I'll be completely converted!
Thanks again - no issues to report whatsoever.
@Stu -
This is something we're thinking about internally, but we don't currently have a timeline for HTML5 support.
