Bug repeat list with jwplayer 4

16 replies [Last post]

hi

i had a weird problem with the jw player 4
I use an rtmp stream and the 'repeat' flashvar is set to 'list'.
Everything is ok with the jw 3 but with jwplayer 4, the player only plays one every track.
Actually, the first track is played nicely, at the end it switches to the second one, but just for one second, and then the third one is ok, and so on....

It can be tested on this page:
http://www.meiteisho.net/

Is it a bug?
have you ever encountered this problem?
I didn't have found anything on the faq or forum about this.
Some help will be appreciate.
thanks.
gotsky

the player version was 4.3
I have upgrade to 4.4. And the problem is now a bit different.
the tracks are played, but one every track has a wrong duration (one second (00:01)) .
I say again that the problem occur with the repeat list flashvar when tracks are played until the end, a playlist xspf, and a rtmp feed.

Thanks for posting this- I have the same problem and was about to give up till I read that your third video worked- so now I have a one second blank video between the two original videos.

This hack will work for this week but a real solution to this bug, where when using a streaming service and the playlist, the second video will not play correctly (it will play for the buffer length then go on to the third video) would be greatly appreciated.

no fix for this?

@gotsky - Can you provide a link?

I think there is an issue here with your RTMP setup. I tried to just play one file, and it seems to work, but once I try to scrub ahead, the sound cuts out. Take a look - http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/testing/?player=4.7&skin=&file=3%2F18624.mp3&streamer=rtmp%3...

Yes it's another issue and I have wrote about this in another thread:
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/servers-and-streaming/12701/unable-to-seek-for...

The problem here is it can be seen only if you let the music play until the end of the first track. The following track has a wrong duration (only one sec)

@gotsky - The issue with your RTMP seeking bug with Red5 is related to this though. Since the file cannot properly be seeked, it is also affecting the playlist from playing from one item to the next. Please note that we do not officially support Red5.

@Ethan so I guess I have to post on a red5 forum...
I think there is a problem of compatibility with red5 and the flash last version, but I haven't found anything about this.
The strange thing is that I think that the playlist issue already occured before the seeking one...

Anyway, thanks for helping

Np

The issue (the seeking one) seems to be related to this known bug on adobe flash player.
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-4847
(Maybe it helps if as much people as possible register, follow and vote for the bug on Adobe JIRA)

Thanks for sharing, very helpful.

@Ethan
So now the seeking issue have been solve with the latest flash upgrade, and it's great.
But the repeat list problem is still there...
and doesn't seem to be related to the seeking one, as you said:

The issue with your RTMP seeking bug with Red5 is related to this though. Since the file cannot properly be seeked, it is also affecting the playlist from playing from one item to the next.

Where is this running?

the tracks are played, but one every track has a wrong duration (one second (00:01)) .
I say again that the problem occur with the repeat list flashvar when tracks are played until the end, a playlist xspf, and a rtmp feed.

I would suggest adding the duration in manually for each entry of the playlist.
