movie buffering

2 replies [Last post]

Hi all

I need to do a lot of streaming with this player and every now and then the connection is not perfect, in the sense that the speed varies. I'm streaming HD movies and it ends up buffering 10 seconds, playing another 5 then buffering again, etc.

Is there a way to start the movie only when, considering the download speed, the amount remaining to be loaded is less than the length of the downloaded movie?

Or better yet, is there a way to fully download the movie and only then automatically play it?

Hi we ahve the same problem. Especially when users viewing our flv movies are across the other side of the world. Movie repeatedly stops and tries to load with the timer.

Our clients in Japan have v quick internet speeds and we have tried low bitrate movies, same proble. Note: I would expect some latency as they are on the other side of the world but not for the videos to stop mid way through the stream. We are using RTMPE with/without tunneling.

By the way is there any way of getting rid of the timer?

thanks

Dave

For now, the player simply lets the buffer fill up and then starts playing.

It will begin buffering again if the buffer drops below 25%.

We recommend that you increase your buffer length if you'd like to buffer less frequently. If you'd like to buffer the whole video before starting playback, simply set the buffer length to the duration of the video.

To what timer are you referring?
