Meta data is lost after transcoding

We just noticed that the transcoded files are stripped of all the meta data present in the original file. We need to preserve the meta data in transcoded files too. How can we do this?

I'm afraid this is not possible.

This should be fine as along as we use player embed within our site. But we are also planning to provide podcasting service soon.

The media is quite blank without associated meta tags when it plays on players like iTunes. It would be great if the transcoded file retains or adds atleast the title, description & author values that are available within your General tab. Is this something that can be expected in future? I'm sure alomost all users of BOTR would want this to happen if possible.

I have passed along your feature request. I will keep an eye out and update this thread if anything comes out of this.

Thanks Remco! I really appreciate it.

Would like to know if there has been any development on this. Thanks.

While this is potentially interesting, there are no short term plans to implement this because this would be fairly complicated to implement.
