I've been reading through some old post and ran into a couple that mentioned BOTR was considering not charging for storage of the original files some time back. Didn't find any official announcement to that effect so I'm assuming this was not implemented. But I just wanted to confirm whether storing the original uploaded file on BOTR is counted towards platform usage?

My second question is, is there a way to download the original uploaded file through BOTR?

My video editor does the actual uploading and I would like to just download the original file through BOTR instead of having him upload to another FTP so I can download from there.

Thanks.

We still charge for storing originals (the threads that mention making originals free were at a time when it was not possible to delete originals, while that is possible right now).

You will have to render out a "passthrough" conversion in order to be able to download your original.

In the longer run we plan to merge the passthrough and the original conversion, but unfortunately we haven't had time to implement that yet.

OK, thanks for clarifying.

Is there a way to delete the passthrough conversion once I have downloaded it? I did this for one of my videos but the conversion seems to be locked/undeletable.

I'm afraid it's not possible because it is a locked template. This is also one of the reasons why we wish to merge the passthrough and original template eventually.

Thanks. Any chance you could delete the passthrough file for this one test video from the back-end? Key is JuwzDYxc

I'm afraid I don't have the tools for that. "Reuploading" the original would make the passthrough conversion go away though, or alternatively you can simply delete the original and keep the passthrough so you can reupload it if you ever need to make additional conversions.
