botr_KEY_KEY.loadVideo() and HTML5 mode

Per this BOTR documentation:
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/bits-on-the-run/23360/embedding-best-practices

There was a tech note: "Note we currently do not support any javascript interaction in HTML5 mode (iOs, Android). This will arrive at a later stage." Found under the "botr_VIDEOKEY_PLAYERKEY.loadVideo('OTHERKEY');" Javascript API.

I just tried this and indeed "botr_VIDEOKEY_PLAYERKEY.loadVideo('OTHERKEY');" did not appear to work on my iOS device. Is this the case? If so, what does "arrive at a later stage" mean.

This is correct. The reason is because there is a timing issue between the Bits on the Run embeds and the player API that we need to resolve first. Hopefully we can introduce this around Q2.

Anyway around this right now?

I'm afraid there is none.

It would be better for us if there were a firm commitment to address as there is no workaround and this seems like significant functionality.

This is definitely something we're going to address, we're just not certain what the exact time frame is going to be because this is a complicated problem that we need to solve correctly without breaking the (large number) of existing integrations with the player.

Ah. I get it. Good luck with that then.
