Using Bits on the Run as a Local Media Player and a Web Player in one App

I appreciate the title of this message may look a bit weird but let me explain what we are trying to achieve.

We have an application that provides a secure area for storing and playing video media files (usual types + flash) and we want to add a viewer to the application. I know there are a lot of media player components out there we could use to achieve this but we would also like to be able to play media (flash) when the application is running to allow our clients (media providers) to stream ads and other promo materials to the users of the application.

Of critical importance is the selection of a high quality media player - which is why we ended up here..

The Application is written in Delphi so we can use an ActiveX or DLL based API - if such a thing exists.

If necessary we would be happy to write the API parts, obviously with your help and advice.

Any thoughts or ideas will be very welcome...

I'm afraid our player cannot be integrated into desktop software, it is designed to be used in webpages and to be viewed in web browsers only.

Understood - so would it work if I make my playback area a browser window. That way your player should only see what it expects...

May be worth a try...
