Any chance the api will be improved and allow some more advanced searching?

For instance I would love to be able to search the custom parameters attached to my videos. And I would really like to be able to search all videos that don't contain a specific custom parameter.

I'm afraid that there are no short term plans for this, as there are only relatively few people using the custom vars fields at this point in time.

Thanks for the reply.

That is too bad. The custom fields add a whole new dimension and could open up some much tighter integration with out systems.
