Estimating usage

I am trying to estimate what my monthly costs will be so that I can accurately submit a budget change form to our accounting department and requisition funds.

Currently we self host about 1GB of FLVs on one site and 10GB on another. I serve these up via Joomla using a licenced version of the JW player.(v4 w/ a 50 domain license)

I am not sure how to estimate what our storage needs will be. I do not anticipate needing higher quality videos that are already at www.cryolife.com.

Any guidance would be appreciated

It seens we only serve up about 4-7 GB of video per month BTW. I may budget for 10.

Oh, forgot to add that we will be switching to MP4 from FLV.

Hi Bobby, the easiest way to get an estimate of what the size will be after upload would be to create a free trial account and upload a couple of videos that are typical to your site.

Inside the video details there is a "transcoding" tab where you can see what size the converted videos of your originals are. This way you should be able to extrapolate what the size of your converted library would be.
