Security Video stream capture setup

Happy New Year !

With the holiday today, I find myself with the time to test my initial free account.

I am testing Bits to capture/store security video, for monthly backups.

What are the best camera settings?
I've a DCS-932L by DLink. (a video crude server within)

It's wanting to set the frame rate to auto, even 15 fps is too much data.

When set to ftp motion capture, (another directory in web hosting account) the ideal frames were not captured. It appears the camera does not capture when busy establishing ftp connection. For example it gets the cat entering the hall, and then the tail of the cat entering the kitchen. Mid-frames are skipped during ftp-ing.

DLinks says the skip problem I described is not possible. But it happens every time.

I would like to simply stream all the video to bits and not miss anything AND not put a computer with software on site.

What are my options? And functional information on capturing off site, securely are appreciated.

Maybe someone else on the forum will know something, but I'm afraid this problem is a bit too specific to be able to give you any answers from Bits on the Run.
