I have a couple of WordPress sites, with the JW Player Plug In
On one, the player is the latest version 5.8.2011
On another, despite having FTPed the zip to the plug in directory, and having tried the automatic plug in, its version is only 5.6.1768
This makes a big difference in trying to get the HTML5 compatible player.
How do I get the second site to find and upgrade to the 5.8 player?

Have you tried uploading the player.zip file using the Upgrade page?
The version number that is displayed is only set by using the Upgrade page. If you FTP'ed the player up, the player will have been updated but the message won't change. This won't actually affect anything though as the player you FPT'ed will be used.
