Hi,
I noticed that there was a new update release for the WordPress plugin. However my player stopped working. Not even the player is shown on the post/page.
Anyone have a clue of what it can be?
Thanks,
Fredrik

Hi again,
Yeah sure, http://amateurvidzone.com/hello-world
I just made a clean installation of WordPress 3.2.1 and activated your plugin. I do as always, insert the player on a post with my mediaid but the player is not showing up on the post. I´ve been thinking and I guess it´s something with the playerfile. I read in the latest update that it was something changed about rhe jwplayer.js and swfobject.js is only loaded if a player is embedded on the page. Everything worked fine with the 1.5.2 version.
I hope you can check this up as soon as possible because it´s one of my favourit plugins!
Hi Fredrik,
That looks like it's the case. How are you embedding the player on the page? Are you using the shortcode?
I have had one other report about this, and I think this will be made into a configuration option for the next release.
Thanks.
I´m embedding the code like this:
Uploading the video.
Go to "Gallery"
Select my player.
Click "Insert JW Player"
Then "Post" or "Update"
The code that appears in the body of the post is:
[jwplayer config="Custom Player" mediaid="8"]
(Mediaid changes for each video ofcourse)
Is there a way to get around this easily or does I have to wait for the new release?
And if so, when do you think the new release will be?
I´ll see if I can find version 1.5.2 during the meantime.
Thanks!
Hi, I recently updated the jw player plugin just 2 days ago. I am now experiencing the same thing as Fredrick, no player shows up on my page.
The wordpress plugin was working fine before the update. I am using profits theme and I just insert my video link from my S3 account into the members video area and select jwplayer as my player.
My website is under construction, but here is a snapshot of one of my pages where the player was located. http://screencast.com/t/NpjFZDu6FEXY
Again, player was working fine before update. Suggestions??
Thanks for your help!
Hey Galen Morgigno!
I tried to install the previous version (1.5.2) and now it works fine. Do you have that plugin version? Otherwise I can send it to you!
Thanks
Fredrik, that would be awesome as I don't have that version. Thanks for your help!!
Guys - All older versions are available here - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/download/
Oh, I didnt know that Ethan! Thanks alot! Can be very good to know in the future :)
Thanks!
Hey guys,
We're working on version 1.5.4 which will make the jwplayer.js change optional. We just need to do a bit more testing and we'll get this out very soon.
Thanks.
I have had a wordpress install with the JW Player plugin installed sitting on my dev server for the past week. I made some changes for my client and didn't look at it for a week. Today I went to check on it and the plugin was broken and I'm getting the message
"There was a problem completing activation of the plugin. The wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress directory could not be created. Please ensure the WordPress uploads directory is writable. For tips on how to make sure this folder is writable please refer to http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions."
The problem is those directors are in fact set to 777.
I deactivated the plugin and reactivated... I'll try a reinstall... I cant figure out what caused this to happen though.
I had the what sounds like the same problem -- I upgraded to version 1.5.4 and now the player no longer appears.
So I downloaded the zip file for version 1.5.2 from the link above, and tried to upload into my wordpress site manually through the JW Player "upgrade" page. I got the following error message:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /data/16/1/4/11/1493011/user/1605749/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/admin/UpdatePage.php on line 84
The necessary zip classes are missing. Please upload the player manually instead using the upgrade page.
What am I doing wrong, and how do I go back to a version that worked?
Thanks!
@Jackson
Could you describe the changes you made to the dev environment? They may be related to the issue you're having.
@David
Could you try switching back to 1.5.4 and providing a link to a page where the player is failing to appear?
Thanks.
Thanks for answering, Cameron, and I'm sorry not to respond for so long (I was away from the internet).
My site is still on 1.5.4 because I wasn't able to re-upload the earlier version. Here's a page that used to have an audio player under each title, but now doesn't:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Never mind! I reinstalled the latest version directly in wordpress, and now it seems to work like before.
Hi Frederik,
Could you post a link to where you're seeing this behavior? I need to see the page itself before I can offer any suggestions.
Thanks.
