HD plugin: hd.replace woes

7 replies [Last post]

Hi there,

I am using the 'hd-1' plugin, and have seen the instructions on specifying one single file for playback in low and high quality.

The issue is that I want to use playlists.

I have seen multiple references to a hd.replace variable, but it seems that it is no longer present in the plugin. I have seen a reference to that fact.

I was wondering if someone knows how to enable the HD button on playlists.
I have full control over both the playlist as the content, so can make changes if necessary

Thanks,

Taco

Ok, I have been able to fix this by creating two separate playlists and adding the hd one to the player by specifying hd.file

How did you do this, can you give an example?

Ah, wait never mind I figured it out, for those that don't know, the idea behind the HD plugin is that by using the "file" varibale you can specify the SD file, and by using the "hd.file" variable you can specify the HD version of the file.

This works the same using playlists IE: "file=SD.xml" list and "hd.file=HD.xml" list all the list Items must match between the two lists except that when you declare the file urls in the HD list you just point to the HD file.

This works for streaming servers as well as httpd and progressive DL.

I've yet to make it work by simply putting the direct file location in the same SD.xml using the <jwplayer:hd.file>path-to-HD-file</jwplayer:hd.file> declaration, when I do this, clicking the HD button just gives the loader icon but it does not get the HD file from the streaming server.

If any one has found a solution to this, please post it!

Thank you

The HD plugin is not currently fully compatible with playlists. We're working on an update presently.

We are looking for a solution to this same problem. We'd like to see the HD plugin using the same playlist as SD.
