Installing JW Player in PHP

7 replies [Last post]

Hello
I am pretty novice to flash, but I am a fast learner. My site url is www.gearbids.net I am trying to put a flash video on my home page in place of the existing logo. I built a folder and loaded the contents into it. This is what the end result of the files looks like.

{webroot}/jwplayer/player.swf
{webroot}/jwplayer/jwplayer.js
etc...

My question is, to what do I add the following scrip to to get it in the correct position on my web site?

<object id="player" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" name="player" width="328" height="200">
<param name="movie" value="player.swf" />
<param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
<param name="flashvars" value="file=video.mp4&image=preview.jpg" />
<embed
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
id="player2"
name="player2"
src="player.swf"
width="328"
height="200"
allowscriptaccess="always"
allowfullscreen="true"
flashvars="file=video.mp4&image=preview.jpg"
/>
</object>

All you would need to do is change the reference from player.swf to - {webroot}/jwplayer/player.swf

Thanks for the fast reply,
You are saying I need to change: <param name="movie" value="player.swf" />
to <param name="movie" value="{webroot}/jwplayer/player.swf" />

and src="player.swf" to src="{webroot}/jwplayer/player.swf"

I am working in control panel, so where and into what file in file manager should I place the whole code in order for it to be in the position on the home page that I want it to be?
i.e. the config.php file

LMK if you need more information to help answer the question.
Thanks!

Yes, that is what I am saying.

Sorry...I have never used control panel before.

How to build a folder in webroot for uploading the JW Player?
Plese help......

Sorry, this is not a forum for hosting support. Creating a folder in your root is a very simple task to accomplish. If you are still having issues, I would recommend contacting your hosting provider.
