Can I scale the player seperate from the plug-in?

I have an iPod-style plugin.
It imports and covers the JW Player entirely with a transparent hole. The player should reside inside the hole, but because the player and plug-in are the same dimensions the player is being cropped.
achieved this by altering stretcher.as to resize the media only inside JW player
