next/previous buttons now showing in skin(bekle skin) or when using html5 (modes)

Can anyone tell me why the next/previous-buttons aren't showing in the controlbar when using the bekle-skin? From what I can see, the buttons are defined in the xml-file and the images linked do exist.. but the previous/next-buttons are only showing with the default skin.

I added

                                       <divider />
                                        <button name="previous" />
                                        <divider />
                                        <button name="next" />

in the layout-section and re-zipped. The buttons are defined in the elements-section and the images are in the zip as well.

To test something out, I tried disabling the skin to see if the buttons showed up in the default skin per the manual, but no.. hmm..

I turned to my arhcnemesis (the modes section) and first disabled html5 - no change. Then I disabled the entire modes-block and first then did the prev/next-buttons appear in the default skin - but still not in the bekle-skin.

First of all, I do believe there's a bug related to the modes-block regarding the skinning model .. first when this is sorted out would I like to troubleshoot more on the missing-buttons-in-the-skin issue..

Cheers!

What version of the player are you using?

v5.8 (licensed), tested with 5.7-licensed, r2002 and r2011 too.
Another odd thing is, that I can actually make the next-button appear in the bekle-skin (when commenting out the modes-block), but haven't so far seen any sign of the previous-button..

In 5.8 we remove the next/prev buttons for playlists by default.

Ethan: Sorry, but I don't understand.. are you saying, that even though next/previous-buttons are defined in the skin, the player will not show them?

I am seeing no (apparent) difference between using 5.7 and 5.8.

I'd like you to elaborate on this - especially how I'll make the prev/next-buttons appear for a skin that has them defined.

Ok, now I am seeing the difference.. in 5.7, I can have the prev/next-buttons, but in 5.8 i can't... sorry, but that's a little backwards. Is there a really good reason for this?

We removed them if the playlist is visible, since having them is redundant.

aaaAAAaaaaah.. _now_ it makes much more sense. Thanks for the clarification (and yes, it does make more sense to hide the buttons when the playlist is visible..)

One thing though: In flashmode the <>-buttons are shown, both when the playlist is visible and when it isn't (using the default skin, the <>-buttons are correctly removed). Tested with 5.8.

Hello,
I bought the commercial Version and I have one more question about this post... when it is fullscreen, there is no chance to have a next and previousButton ?
Thanks.

Do you mean in HTML5 mode?

why ?

If you click fullscreen, the player has a menu where it is practical with a next and previous button

you can not see the playlist in fullscreen,
then to select the next, one must first go back to normal screen,

with next and previous buttons, you can do this in fullscreen.

can we get next and previous buttons back,
while visible playlist in 5.8
right now I must use version 5.6 where i is possible

no, just in embed player

Of you want them to be added back, please post in - http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/feature-suggestions/ , thanks.

put back the prev and next buttons.
everyone wants them.
that was like taking the french fries away from a combo.
cruel.

it's basic business sense. you should never take things away from customers - - you're supposed to give things to customers.

it was an extremely poor idea.just put them back. the player is lame now.

It was a previous request to have them removed, but we will look into adding them back.

Hi give me a option for prev and next buttons and all so give me Enable,disable or Visible: false,True option in the HTML5 Player .
This will help you for all the users.
