What Video Formats are supported in Adtvideo

Hi,

I recently purchased the Adtonomy Video plugin, and everything was going very well, I was able to play some test FLV files fine. When I came to test with our production videos (which are encoded as H.264 .mov files, and work perfectly in the JW Payer) they did not appear. I had tried it with several different values in the "type" attribute for the ad tag, all to no avail.

So my question is: What video formats are supported by the Adtonomy Video plugin?

Is it only FLV?

If that is the case, are there any plans to include H.264 support soon?

Thanks!

Kev.

There's been no response to Kev's question from March of last year, so I just wanted to follow up to see which video formats are supported.

Same question as before: is it only FLV or are other formats supported?

And if other formats are supported, which ones (eg we're specifically interested in H.264 in MP4 container)?

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Adtonomy Video supports H.264 encoded videos. However, the URL to the file must end in a .flv. This is a limitation of the playback component the plugin uses. The will be addressed in an upcoming update, however I can't provide a timeline.

If you're using an MP4 file you can get around this by doing the following:

http://www.example.com/path/to/file.mp4.flv

Thanks.

Hi Cameron,

Thanks for the response. Good to know that this will be addressed in a future update.
