I love bleeding edge tech. But with it of course some early problems. Still, I also want to prep a skin so when v5 finally does come out, I'll be good to go on my site the way I want it to look.
How do you load the skin.xml? Is it just a direct replacement instead of the old swf skin? (e.g. flashvars.skin = "http://domain.com/path/file.swf";)
I uploaded the example Silk skin and tried it out to no avail. But instead of it simply not working, my host actually ended up banning my IP because it logged an aggressive tcp connection to the host. I'm guessing it's the fact it tries to load so many PNGs at the same time?
This is what the admin told me regarding the lockout from my website: "The port flood was caused by your browser on port 80, it will block an IP if there are more than 20 connections to tcp port 80 within 5 seconds."
I'm hoping I'm just improperly loading the skin.xml and not stumbling onto another problem :P
Thank you in advance,
Nikita

Hey thanks for the interest!
Right now we're still in the process of testing the v5 PNG Skin functionality and I couldn't give you exact instructions on developing your own.
However, once we've locked it down I'll be writing a tutorial on it, which I'll link to you here as soon as it's complete.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the update, Bill.
If possible, please bump this thread when the functionality is built into the latest trunk. Can't wait to test it.
