hello guys,

I might have some good news for you concerning
H.264 and flash streaming both live and offline files.
Me and a few friends have managed to create a new server for
RTMP protocol as an alternative to FMS 3.0.
It is written in C++ so it's quite fast and can accept
RTP streams as the signal source for live streams.
We'd like to release it within the next few days
under the LGPL licence. Are there
any volounteers to do some testing ?

We also implemented a RTMP server in C++.

Here is what we have accomplished:

--audio/video live streaming (full)
--shared objects (partial)
--AMF3 (interface created, very well isolated, but not implemented yet)
--AMF0 (almost full)
--server applications are scripted in Lua (full)
--database support for postgresql (full)
--database support for mysql(partial,testing)
--database support for UNIX ODBC (started)

Which kind of Live Streaming? My question goes to webcam/camera encoding/decoding during "live" browser encode/decode capture. The flash plugin has always been limited to encoding/decoding the Sorenson codec. If you cracked this little nightmare in a serious way so you can encode/decode H264 from a flash9 plugin, I can pull a bunch of help from our red5 guys. peter<nospace>spevatgmaildotcom.

I have been currently running RED5 server on a closed network to run VOD and also Voip(flashphone).
We have over 400 clients connected to the community broadband WiFi network in Alicante Spain, which is always a challenge when it comes to video streaming.

However our backbone capacity and speed is awesome, so it could be a very good test bed for you.

We are just in the process of installing DVB-S/T decoders, to stream Live TV.
And the conversion process from DVB-S > FLV is very resource intensive.

We would be delighted to run tests on your solution and also offer with help in development.
