Hi Guys,

First, love the player. Having a slight problem though....

Purchased and downloaded the licensed player last night as I'd like the watermark and menu removed, but when testing I've found that the licensed player simply doesn't work (doesn't seem to load).

Have checked code, paths etc, everything seems fine, so wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions/assistance ? The unlicensed player loads fine with the rest of the code EXACTLY the same.

Link to video page with licensed player:

Link to video page with un-licensed player:
http://www.albannachmusic.com/about/videos/index2.html

Thanks,
Chris.

Chris,

It seems like there is something wrong with the licensed player that you have downloaded. For example, you might have accidentally closed your FTP program while uploading the player.swf, which in turn did not upload the entire file on the server.

To illustrate my point:

http://www.albannachmusic.com/about/videos/player-viral.swf works

http://www.albannachmusic.com/about/videos/player.swf does not work.

Can you please download the player again and upload it to your server?

Best,

Darjan

Hi Guys,

Just an update to close this thread, I downloaded the players again and it still didn't work - but the players you emailed to me work just fine.

Seems to have been a corruption issue with the ZIP i downloaded (twice).

Thanks for your help in fixing this.
Chris.

Same here. Unlicensed works fine and licensed does not. Downloaded the ZIP file both on a Mac and on PC.

Script that does work (unlicensed)

<script type='text/javascript' src='swfobject.js'></script>
<div id='mediaspace1'>This text will be replaced</div>
<script type='text/javascript'>
var so = new SWFObject('player.swf','mpl','160','90','9');
so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
so.addParam('wmode','opaque');
so.addVariable('file','http://www.vsmcinema.com/movies/__I_Do.flv');
so.addVariable('controlbar','none');
so.addVariable('autostart','true');
so.addVariable('displayclick','none');
so.addVariable('icons','false');
so.addVariable('mute','true');
so.addVariable('repeat','always');
so.addVariable('stretching','exactfit');
so.write('mediaspace1');
</script>

Replacing "player.swf" by "player-licensed.swf" does not work. Both players are on server in same folder.

What's wrong? Thanks

@Serge: Can you please show me a link to the page where you have implemented the code so that I can replicate the error?

Hmm, I also tried downloading the licensed player just now and got an unexpected end of archive error when trying top open the zip. I tried emptying my cache and downloading again, and using different zip programs (WinRAR and WinZIP) but always the same thing.

Ah, nevermind. I re-downloaded with Firefox and it's fine. Just corrupt when downloading through IE8 for some reason.

I purchased a licensed player in June, 2009, license date: June 29th, 2009. How do I enable my player to accept the license? or do I have to download a different player than the one offered on the website?

Hello,

I used the player free version 4.2.9 and have no problems.
I load the video filename by JS.
I buy today the licenced version (4.5.230) and when I try to read the video, the player don't start playing. We see the buffuring and after 5 minutes the video begin !

Have you an idea ?

function fctOpPlayer() {

var so = new SWFObject('../Player/player-licensed.swf', 'mplflashbanner20090908115658', '610', '380', '9.0.0');
so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
so.addVariable('autostart','false');
so.addVariable('backcolor','F2F2F2');
so.addVariable('bufferlength','5');
so.addVariable('displayheight','380');
so.addVariable('displaywidth','610');
so.addVariable('file','');
so.addVariable('frontcolor','757575');
so.addVariable('height','380');
so.addVariable('image','');
so.addVariable('lightcolor','557722');
so.addVariable('logo','http://localhost/DiviMap/App_Themes/Default/Images/logo.gif');
so.addParam('loop','true');
so.addParam('menu','false');
so.addVariable('screencolor ','000000');
so.addVariable('start','0');
so.addVariable('streamscript','lighttpd');
so.addVariable('stretching','uniform');
so.addVariable('type','flv');
so.addVariable('width','610');
so.addParam('wmode','opaque');
so.write('flashbanner20090908115658');
}

Many thanks for your help.

I have a similar problem. My unlicensed player works fine so I bought a license and uploaded the player-licensed.swf file and the flash no longer works.

Do I have to upload anthing else or change the file name of the player to player.swf?

I can't find any instructions on the site or the Forum about how to upgrade your website with a licensed player.

Thanks

I purchased a multi-site license several weeks ago and have implemented the player just fine on one of my sites.

I recently began work on a new site (same server, different domain) but am unable to get the player to work. I have copied the the player to the new sites directory. Is this correct or should there only be one instance of the player on the server and have the code point to that player?

thanks

@ Anna and @ Dan: can you send an email to support [at] longtailvideo [dot] com with your license number and URL? We will look into it immediately.

Also, you might want to try re-downloading a licensed version of the JW Player
