Yeah i'd also like this..

There are many players out there but they dont work so good.

I want to be able to have JW player connect to a ShoutCast Stream?

Any Ideas?

1) Download the m3u/pls playlist.

2) Open the playlist with a text editor.

3) Copy the mount point.

4) Paste the mount point into your player code or playlist.

5) If it's a Shoutcast stream, add "/;stream.nsv" to the mount point.

6) Add a type of sound to your player code or playlist.

7) Test Page here: http://willswonders.myip.org:8074/Simple_Shoutcast.html

If you get stuck, post a link to the playlist that you are trying to use and post a link to your test page.

@lost

Wondering if you have the time to guide me through getting the proper info to play a local radio station in the JW Player. I've never had the need to run down an I/P in that way. What tools do you use to examine a string etc to locate one. What is the tip off as to the question of what format are they using. Just any info you think may be helpful.

Here's a link to the station web page:http://mymail.playourvideo.net/MainPage.jpgAnd here is a link and on the statusbar is the javascript they are using:http://mymail.playourvideo.net/LinkOnPage.jpg but I doubt the answers lie there. I'm guessing you have to sniff out the address.

Looks like all windows media.

http://www.670kboi.com/

Click "Listen Live"

Click "Click Here to LISTEN LIVE"

Pop-Up Player, right-click, View Source

StartUp URL: http://citadelcc-KBOI-AM.wm.llnwd.net/citadelcc_KBOI_AM

Copy & Paste the StartUp URL in your browser.

Download: citadelcc_KBOI_AM.asx

Open citadelcc_KBOI_AM.asx in a text browser.

Ref2=http://68.142.79.40:80/citadelcc_KBOI_AM?MSWMExt=.asf

You may be able to use the ASX playlist citadelcc_KBOI_AM.asx directly in the WMV player.

Works in VLC, my Windows Media Player is broken and I have no incentive to fix it.

Aug. 13, 2009So simple ...

Download ITunes, "Advanced/Open" menus and past the URL ending with m3u or pls ...

Where can i get sample .pls playlists...

foobar works great for those wanting to play/listen to online radio trust me it's harder finding certain types of good free online radio stations (try searching for a station that only plays jazz, a station that only plays rocky horror picture show music, or plays world beat...ect.) or whatever and doesn't require a subscription than it is to find a good player that can play PLS and other files.

http://www.foobar2000.org/

But if you can afford it there's places like http://www.live365.com that require subscription, you download the player thing and then you can listen to several "free" stations with that one player after you buy a subscription...I don't know why they insist on calling things like that free when the reality is you're paying for an online radio player and being allowed to listen to several different stations via subscription service. *shrug*

You can use this code:

<embed width="300" height="20" src="urlOfPlaylist" type="application/x-mplayer2" autoplay="true"></embed>

It works for me.

Bye!

<embed width="300" height="20" src="urlOfPlaylist" type="application/x-mplayer2" autoplay="true"></embed>

How do you get that to open in a popup?

Put this code in an html page, and then make a link that calls a JS popup to call the page...Google knows wink

No file has that, that is usually controlled via your CMS (Content Management System).

So there's no way to get the id3 metadata? or something like this?

I'm playing Tirnua currently. You can purchase a radio to put in your virutal room and then link any radio station you want by placing the IP address in manually. My problem is that the only way I know to obtain an IP address is through .pls file types using notepad. Most radio channel links are HTML. Anyone know how to get the IP from HTML links? I've looked through pages of the stuff and I can't find a single one. The channels that list as .pls files all suck. Hellp please.
