Setting up Viral

There are two ways available for setting up the Viral plugin on your website. This tutorial will cover both methods.

The Viral Player

The Viral Player is a special version of the JW Player that already has the Viral Plugin incorporated into it. As a result, no special configuration is necessary. Just embed the Player as normal and Viral will be immediately available. To get the Viral Player onto your site, follow the steps below:

1. Download the Player from the LongTail website, making sure the 'Include Viral' checkbox is checked.
2. Upload the player file to your website.
3. Embed the Player.

The Viral Plugin

If you have an existing non-Viral JW Player, it is possible to have the Player include the Viral plugin without needing to redownload the player. Just follow the step below.

1. Modify your embed code and set the plugins flashvar equal to viral-2.
