Some people must see to believe.

You can open the following test page on my server: http://www.shaddyshow.com/experimental/flvplayer_youtubehq.php

There you see the FLVPlayer (licensed) playing YouTube videos in standard quality and in high quality.

The example shows:
- you don't need the YouTube API
- you will not have a YouTube sign
- you can play high quality videos (fmt=18) and even higher quality if available (fmt=6, fmt=22)
- the aspect ratio is correct on high quality videos

The "How To" is explained at http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?thread=13704
I have introduced the new workaround on 23.10. on this thread - and on the same day, scroll a bit down, Bouke Regnerus has added the great idea to include the fmt=18 parameter into the code.

The workaround does work with single videos as well as with playlists.
The workaround does work with FLVPlayer 3.x and 4.x (but probably even with older versions).
(see http://www.shaddyshow.com/experimental/flvplayer.php)

I have changed today my whole site to HQ video (well, was just a little change in the main script). That's why I made the test page.

I think this should answer most of all YouTube related questions and problems. Those who still try to use the YouTube Api embedded in the new FLVPlayer: good luck ;P
