LongTail Video Update after Hurricane Sandy

Share

As you all may know, LongTail Video is a New York City based company, and we too have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. Our HQ is located in the Union Square neighborhood and we were affected by the power outages from Sandy that hit almost every area below 34th Street. Mayor Bloomberg and Con Edison, our electric provider, have been very responsive to all New Yorkers in keeping us up to date on repairs and services, and we are hoping that next week we will be close to coming back online at our offices.

We want to assure all our customers and users that none of our systems have been affected since they are not hosted on NYC-based servers. Our website where JW Players are downloaded and purchased as well as both of our hosted services, the video platform Bits on the Run and video ad offering AdSolution, are all working smoothly.

The LongTail Video team is safe! While many of our team and their families are without power and water, no one has been injured or had serious damage to their homes. Even without being able to get in to the office we are all being creative about working together in distributed mode around the city. The whole team wants to say thank you to everyone who has been sending kind words of support to the team here in NYC. It really helps to hear from you!

Stay tuned for an update when we finally get back into our office again.

As always, we are video-ly yours,

The Team at LongTail Video

As a fellow New Yorker - it's great you're ok. The JW player is amazing!!! Have a working embedded video | audio player on my site - Liquid Fusion ® records - Music - Film www.liquidfusion.com. Next step - working on skins..... Setting up different players to showcase music | Artists.

Idea: have links on the player face - so one can choose an Artist (from a group of Artists) to suddenly preview their Songs | Videos. Saying this because there is a 25 item limit per player.

Being able to interchange Several Artist Playlist Templates keeps JW Player real estate on a website minimal vs having a different player for each Artist Showcase.
